Consumed November 3rd, 2013 at Congregation Ale House, Pasadena Chapter.

Appearance: fairly light yellow with vague cloudiness. Plenty of active carbonation. One finger white foam head provides excellent sheeting and lacing throughout.

Aroma is somewhat appropriate for a saison: esthery clove and bananas. Soft powdery Belgian yeast note.

Flavor is fairly light: banana, clove, a little wheat. Flavor is actually very close to a Bavarian hefeweizen with a light touch of funk.

Refreshing and zesty: very drinkable and thirst-quenching.

Not sure it's a very good representation of the style, but nice to drink nonetheless.

NOTE - this is probably the same beer as the "saison" by the same brewery. They probably just gave it a proper name and lowered the ABV a little. (774 characters)

On tap at Congregation Ale House in Pasadena, CA.

Pours a hazy orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. A foamy curtain of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, spice, and yeast aromas. Taste is much the same with malt, spice, and slight fruit flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and dry mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is fairly basic but easy to drink. (560 characters)
