On tap at the brewpub. Pours pitch black with big tan head. Rings if lacing on the glass. Smells of coffee, mild roast and I get a ton of root beer aroma. Toasty bitterness and coffee in the flavour. Thin mouthfeel. A nice flavourful stout. I'd drink thus again if it were regularly available in Ontario.

Aromas of Roasted malt, vanilla, chocolate, sugars, with some nice floral hops which is unexpected for a stout. A little musty.
Taste is Sour; ending in a pretty Hefty bitterness. Tiny bit of sweetness. I'm not getting all the aromas in the taste. Was expecting more of a chocolate, roasted taste. Mouthfeel is rather light for a stout, with a very slight creaminess.
Scores high in drinkability. I feel like could down a bunch of these. Overall, nothing exceptional, but enjoyable. I Would drink it again if it was reasonably priced, but considering you can get McAuslin oatmeal stout for a more reasonable price, I'd go that route.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry roasted malt is more intense then I was expecting. Taste is quite dry with some roasted malt and dry coffee notes - somewhat more intense then I had expected. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well brewed though maybe a tad too dry for my taste.

Dark black color beer, I can't even see through it. The head is cream looking and sticks well to the glass. Nice looking beer. The aroma is faint intensity. I get some coffee and chocolate but very faint. The taste is similar, and nothing extraordinary. I get more coffee here and some roasted malts too which I didn't get through aroma. There is some bitterness but not from the hops more from the roasted malts. The mouthfeel is creamy which is good since often it is not the case for me.
Finally, this is an Irish Stout before being an American Stout.

Black with a little white head to look at. Thin-medium mouthfeel or roasted barley and sourness, almost mould yet well before expirely date. Not so dry as bland and lacking drinkability. Little in the way of roasty aroma surrprisingly.Rumours of coffee and chocolate are exagerated.

1.9 L growler Black hue with no light shining through, long-lasting tan head, foamy and frothy. Chocolate and dry charcoal roast aroma, pretty straightforward and simple, but well focused. Palate is pretty dry altogether, very well built roasty finish, but not much happening before. Malt profile definitely lacks some character and is actually a little bland or at least not so flavourful. Under average example.
