I'm visiting the Deep Ellum Brewing Co brewery, so you'll probably see a few reviews from me today. I decided to start with their flagship, the IPA.
It's made with Citra, Amarillo, Chinook, Palisade and Summit. Sometimes hop blends like this can muddy the taste, but this gives good elements from all the hops. The beer is initially fruity, but then it rounds into a sticky pine and finishes with a Summit-induced tangerine. Each variety is well balanced and adds to the refreshing, but bold taste. A very nice, very solid first offering and flagship.

Very mild on the aroma: sweet pine and mild bread. Starts malty with some citrus. Transitions to biscuit and a decent piney bitterness. The lingering bitterness is quite impressive. If I weren't so exposed to IPAs... And a bit of an IPA snob, I'd probably really love this beer. It is still a very nice beer but I don't think its exceptional.
