from a 12oz can, into lost abbey teku.

unknown date, not provided on can.

A: standard pour results in 1/4 to 1/2" slightly off white head, recedes nicely into a ring around the glass, with a thin film of foam remaining. light copper, deep or burnt orange hue. lacing originally present from pour, but receds as glass is consumed.

S: a little sweetness, citrus juices, mostly orange juice, a little.. grapefruit juice? slightly resiny. overall aroma is not as assertive as i assumed it would be after smelling the hops as soon as the can was cracked.

T: more bitter than the nose leads, but the resiny-ness of the smell comes through. finishes dry, but coating and sticky. lots of OJ. a little more maltiness than most ipas with this much citrus-ness, but i'm ok with that.

F: carb is appropriate, refreshing feel, alcohol is hidden.

O: dangerously crushable, especially in the texas sun. solid IPA, will be a routine purchase.

Poured into a cocktail glass in my hotel room from a 12oz can.

Pours a nice dark copper color with a dense off-white head that forms. The head has some good retention and is slightly sticky.

Aroma of sweet pine resin starts things off with some nice juicy tropical fruit notes to boast. Notes of pineapple in the nose with some nice herbal and deep grassy notes. Mild notes of citrus orange and some grapefruit. Doesn’t seem too intense but just right. Nice bready backbone with some caramel notes in the nose.

Flavor follows the nose pretty nicely. Notes of tropical fruits with nice juicy mild grapefruit and some tangerine notes from the hops. Nice grain malt notes. Bready and biscuity. There is a nice hoppy and almost rye like spice to the brew that is very nice and refreshing balancing out some of the more citrus and bitter notes. Great balanced single IPA flavor. Nice crisp mouth feel but with a slight stickiness to it on the backend. Finishes dry and bitter.

Solid IPA. Notes of malt, earthy grain and bread balance out some good IPA notes. Citrus and some notes

Can provided by gtermi

Poured into GI pint

Pour: Clear beer with a dark straw-orange color. Two fingers of frothy foam head. Decent amount of lacing.

Smell: Mild hop aroma in this one. More juice like with orange dominating and some pineapple. Biscuit/cracker with a note of sweetness (caramel).

Taste: Juicy IPA. Orange, pineapple, touch of grapefruit. A malt and cracker like backbone and a sweetness is present. I find there to be a nice balance between the malty sweetness and the clean bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Light-medium with a crisp clean carbonation.

Overall: This has got to be one of the easiest drinking IPA's I have had yet. Not overly bitter but yet not too sweet. Perfect balance and would be one hell of a fantastic summer drinker.
