On cask at the Deep Ellum 1st Anniversary Party. Served in a special Pollenator snifter. After trying the regulator Pollenator and not caring for it, I had no idea what to expect from this one.
The beer pours a clear medium to dark brown color with a small off-white head. The aroma is full of coffee, but as the beer airs out the coffee dissipates and I get more sweet toffee and biscuit notes. Unfortunately, the flavor is once again reminiscent of the regular Pollenator. There is a bit of coffee in the flavor but what really comes through is the toffee and the off notes from the base beer. I once again get some vegetable and metallic notes, which make the beer impossible to drink. This one was also poured out. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. The coffee just couldn't hide the apparent flaws in this batch of the base beer.
