11.2 ounce bottle....(Did I really pay $5.39 for the single bottle!?! WTF, should have checked the sticker price a bit closer)

Medium almond amber, a huge head results from a moderate pour. Fluffy and frothy and slowly relaxing down to a thicker film and leaving nice fine wispy lace.

Ripe tropical fruit nose.

I'm kinda disappointed with this one, sort of mushy mouth feel wise and quite on the mellow side hop wise. Two fine brewers but really no fire works here. Everything seems kinda muted, not what I was expecting from Green Flash and St F.

Pours into a small tulip glass a hazed deep burnt orange infused golden with a blooming sticky white head atop that leaves multiple broken rings of lace behind as it settles ever so slowly into a frothy mass.Aromas of stone fruit and powdered sugar up front, mild phenols and lemony hops are detected as well.Yeasty flavors along with some grain notes at the onset, dry and slightly spicy with lemony hops playing a role.Iam learning slowly that Belgian IPA's are not tongue buckling hop bombs, and I like hop bombs, but I like this beer,it's dry and not overly yeasty.

Poured from a 11.2 oz. bottle into a Duvel tulip glass. Produced on 15/07/2013.

Appearance: Pours a very hazy copper golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Huge four finger off white head with decent retention. Leaves some decent lacing clinging to the glass.

Smell: A yeasty, juicy, and fairly earthy aroma with good hints of citrus and Belgian yeast. Belgian yeast with some upfront hints of funk, clove, and white pepper. Earthy hop presence with some hints of grass and pine. Citrus hops with hints of orange peel, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, and lemon. Also some fruit hints of green apple, pear, grape, and banana. Hints of bubblegum and some candied sugar. A pretty solid aroma.

Taste: Like the smell hints, a juicy, yeasty, and earthy Belgian style taste with big notes of fruit and yeast. Upfront Belgian yeast with a taste of clove, funk, and white pepper. Mix of hops with earthy notes of grass and pine. Citrus hops with some juicy notes of orange, grapefruit, mango, pineapple, and lemon zest. Juicy taste of green apples, banana, pear, and white grape. Also some notes of candied sugar and bubblegum. A very nice taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a medium to high level of carbonation. Juicy, spicy, and somewhat oily. Finishes very dry.

Overall: A very good take on a Belgian IPA. Good balance of Belgian yeast notes and West Coast IPA notes.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a massive, half glass off-white head with good retention and sheets of lacing. Nice spicy aroma of Belgian yeast, clove, citrus hops, fairly complex stone and tropical fruit. Flavor starts with sweet caramel malt, Belgian spicing and yeast, light toffee. Finishes with lingering citrus hops and allspice. Medium bodied. A pleasant Belgian inspired IPA with an almost winter warmer spice complement that is just assertive enough to be supported by the malt and yeast flavors. Finish is a bit thin, leaving the spicing a bit aggressive in the aftertaste, but overall a nicely done Belgian IPA.

A: The beer is hazy yellowish amber in color and has a high amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a two finger high beige colored head that gradually died down, consistently leaving a short head covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of Belgian yeast are present in the nose along with notes of grassy and citrusy hops—grapefruit seem to stand out in particular.
T: The taste mostly follows the smell and has lots of flavors of Belgian yeast along with a mix of grassy and citrusy hops. A light amount of bitterness is present, but this is mostly overshadowed by peppery spices towards the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied and somewhat crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The Belgian influences on this beer seemingly outweigh the American ones, but this is an interesting blend of the two styles. I liked how the combination of grassy and citrusy hops almost resulted in a lemongrass-like flavor.
