On tap at Deciccos in Armonk NY

Hoo Ha if you like chocolatey double stout and you like some spiced up chili peppers...this is your beer.

Chocolate, coffee, roast malts...serrano chili goodness...all magically mixed together...not to hot, but the chili note is def present and glowing in all its glory. Complex, tasty, well crafted and an obvious choice for spicy food or BBQ....Chili heads rejoice and go get some of this elixir (434 characters)

From a cask at the 2015 Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting.

Mild+ chili heat and moderate chili flavor.
Good balance. Rich and moderately complex, with hints of wood, coffee, and burnt toast.

Feel: Nice full body with mild heat and light carbonation. (246 characters)

On tap at the Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.

Pours a fairly dark black, with a small half inch head, and no lacing.

Smells very strongly of pepper, spicy and zesty, with some typical, but buried stout aromas of chocolate and roasted malt.

The pepper doesn't take over in the flavor as strongly as in the aroma, but it's there. Zesty, spicy, and slightly vegetal flavors sit on top of roasted malt, a bit of smoke, and chocolate. The pepper flavor is not too spicy, it complements the strong stout flavor well.

This one sports a body of medium thickness, with a lower amount of carbonation, and a spicy and creamy mouthfeel.

A nice little twist on the regular Green Flash Double Stout, but I think I like the original better. (731 characters)

On tap at the bier stein the other day.

While I thought this a tasty effort from GF, the heat from the chilies was just a bit over the tope for me (and I generally like hot/spicy food). The base beer was excellent, as expected, but the chili flavor dominated to the point it was difficult to appreciate or enjoy it. Just not sure I need to revisit this one again any time soon. (381 characters)

Look: Pours a nice chocolatey black color with a dark brown head

Smell: Coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, dark fruit, earthy hops, chili

Taste: Coffee and chocolate up front with a little serrano flavor, a good helping of roasted malts and earthy hops, with a little heat starting to get noticed. Some dark fruit on the back end, with a little spicy finish, but nothing overwhelming. Just enough spice and chili to compliment the beer, rather than to take away from it

Feel: Full body, medium carbonation

Overall: I often pair beer with spicy food, particularly Mexican. So why not add some of that flavor directly to the beer? It works surprisingly well, as long as it is properly balanced. Props to GF for this unique brew (733 characters)
