Consumed on 02.14.08 at my favorite local haunt in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Liberty Street Taproom and Pizzeria.
Brilliant and orange in colour with a thick, golden head that left a respectible lacing, sticky all throughout. Aromas resonate with amazing candied citrus and fresh pine essence. Clean and clear in the nose, for sure. Great balance on the palate as the bitterness paired well with the light yet solid malty backbone. Make no mistake about it though, this one is all about the hops. One of the more clean, unabashed, well balanced IPAs I have had in some time. I never would have guessed this one was 7% as the alcohol was hidden so well in the hop lusciousness and leveling malt structure.
A fantastic brew and one that needs to be sought out if you are a fan of West Coast IPAs.
