12 oz bottle as an extra in a trade with zrab11, Thanks! I poured this beer into my goblet. No freshness date on the bottle, but I am told it should be fresh.
Appearance: A dark orange with what appear to be floaties suspended in the beer. A nice white one finger head that settles after a good length of time and leaves nice spiderweb sticky lacing.
Smell: Orange and citric hop flavors dominate the nose. There is a note of caramel malts in the background along with a metallic note.
Taste: There is bitterness all through the taste. The hops flavors take a more herbal tack in the taste with a bit of citric and floral notes as well. The malt take a back seat, enough to be noticed, but only barely. This is a very dry IPA, very attenuated. The floaties add nothing to the taste.
Mouthfeel: The body and carbonation are just fine, while the finish is exceedingly long. Silky smooth. 7.3 ABV does not detract at all.
Overall: Another very good beer that does not quite taste like any others that I have had before, and I am at a loss of how to accurately describe it. I wish Utah stocked this beer, I will seek this one out again. Not a good beer to introduce to any except the bravest of unwashed souls (BMC drinkers).

the green flash was first tried in philadelphia at ortleibs. a great little place to see good music and enjoy several craft beer options. good people make everything more enjoyable and the staff there were friendly and helpful, and deftly navigating a busy hipster crowd. the green flash delivers mucho hops to your face and leaves your palate covered in it. smells like beer and i like beer smells. this is an ipa that is not for those who don't like ipa's, its an ipa drinkers beer... and i recommend this beer called the green flash.
