In the World of IPA's it's an uphill battle for any brewery. Beers like Pliny, Hopslam and Heady Topper dominate an already crowded backfield. That said Green Flash can brew some beer and this IPA is good. I feel that there double Chocolate Stout is there best brew to date but this is a good offering for any IPA lover.

Bottom Line: Drink up! it's good!

Mostly clear amber-orange pour with an off-white two finger head with great retention and crazy lacing. This is a hop bomb in every way. Huge hoppy, floral nose with tons of grapefruit, pine, and resin up front along with hints of tropical fruit, and perfume. The taste is complex and just as hoppy. Loads of bitter, resiny, mouth puckering goodness with hints of grapefruit, pine, fresh hops, orange peel, along with some subtle mango and apricot. The mouthfeel is thick and oily with a tangy, bitter, dry finish. With that said, there's just enough of a sweet caramel maltiness to add at least a measure of balance to this insanely bitter beer. Overall, this ranks right up there with all the elite hop bombs and truly lives up to its name.

Copper colored with a rocky head of off-white foam. Lots of sticky lacing.

Incredible hop smell with loads of tropical fruits and pine resin. Plenty of citrus in here.

Huge hop punch in the mouth. Such an array of hops flavors and bitterness that last forever. Tons of citrusy grapefruit, mango, papaya, fruity. Some alcohol mixed in there with pine. Strong and in your face west coast ipa. Very little malt presence.

Crisp, clean, bitter as hell, yet refreshing. Ample carbonation.

The epitome of a West Coast style IPA. If you love hops, this is your beer. So happy to have had it and will go back again.

Poured out of a 12 oz brown bottle into a Green Flash 16 oz nonic glass. Bottling date is in December 2012, although I can't pinpoint the date because I already tossed the bottle.

Appearance - Strong pour yields a frothy two-finger head with lots of large bubbles and webbing. The foam sits atop a body that is golden amber with undertones of dried apricot and flaxen highlights. Just a tiny, tiny bit hazy. Lacing is sticky and pronounced, leaving rings as I drink it down.

Smell - All hops, pungent and intoxicating with fresh-squeezed citrus and pine needles. Highly aromatic, with some faint notes of fresh grass as well.

Taste - Citric, with grapefruit and clementine shining through and shades of pine resin supported by faint malty sweetness. Some pleasantly bitter characteristics on the finish add complexity and entice the next drink.

Mouthfeel - Juicy, with moderate carbonation and a medium-to-light body.

Overall, this might be my favorite IPA out there, especially readily-available IPAs. It's consistently good in all characteristics, very drinkable, and yet packs a punch. While it's certainly a hop bomb, has balance and doesn't ruin your palate.
