Had this today for the first time on tap and then got a couple to go in bottle.
For this review I poured the bottle into a large tulip glass.
Great amber color, a little cloudy with nice lacing throughout.
Smells hoppy but you can smell the malts as well.
Taste is excellent. Hops are strong but balanced with the maltiness. Citrus and pine. Bitter but not overly so.
I love the subtle creaminess of this. Great carbonation.
This gets better with each sip.
I will be buying this again and sharing with friends.

Pours orange yellow, but more toward yellow. Light white head disappears.

Smells very bitter, aroma hops are glaringly absent. Maybe thats age, because I dont know how long the keg has been on. I usually make a point to ask how long kegs of IPAs have been on, but alas I forgot this time.

This beer is really good, but its pretty much a one-horse beer. Up front dominating dry hops. Dry leafy hop flavors are really there, but then you want more. The IBUs are insane, but its just overall bitter. Not bad, but I want more aroma juicy hops. Even some fresh pine cone or needles would help out a ton.

Malt is glaringly absent. After having a ton of Bell's (Hopslam, The Oracle, and Two-Hearted), my IPA taste buds are really spoiled.

Its a great beer, dont get me wrong, but Ill take a Two-Hearted any day of the week.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Dogfish Head Signature glass.

A: Pours a hazy reddish orange color. Normal pour leads to a 1 finger light tan head that disappears to a small ring in a few moments. Lacing is thick and plentiful.

S: Definitely pulling some hops but the malt is shining through this one more than anything. This probably means its past its prime but who knows seeing as there is no freshness date.

T: Follows the nose although the malt base is really wonderful it's really the foremost flavor in this beer. Normally that wouldn't be bad but this beer is called "West Coast IPA" and I'm sure while fresh it's hop forward but this one, not so much.

M: Nice feel, creamy, bitter finish. Bitterness is actually pretty prevalent.

O: Well, I'm kinda pissed that I dropped $11 on a 4-pack. I've been waiting and waiting to try this beer because it gets good reviews. Well, Green Flash. You burned me. I won't be going back to this IPA until you start putting freshness dates on the bottle.

Welcome to Kentucky Green Flash, glad to finally try this one.

Pours a darker reddish orange color, good density but very clean. Not much head but a creamy white top somewhat lingers around. Lacing is also lacking so not exciting.

A good strong funky hop aroma. A mix of citrus flavors with an almost brass metal like blend, surprisingly this is a huge complement. The malt isn't strong or powerful enough so this one goes a bit one sided and has plenty of room to grow on.

Much like the nose, citrus and brassy hops. A lot of herbal elements here as well. I really like the complexity in flavor from the hops. The malt is weak and doesn't add much here, light toasted caramel malt in the back ground.

A bit heavy for an IPA but drinkable and very well carbonated.

I really like this one. It isn't the best or close, but it is a great example of what the west coast ipas are all about.
