A - It's a hazy copper, almost reddish/brown in color. Good off white 2 finger head that dissipated into a nice layer above the beer.

S - Hops galore from the smell. Complimented nicely by sweet, citrus scents of orange and grapefruit.

T - Bitter that lasts from beginning to end. Orange peel and malts peek through.

M - Prickly on the mouth, not sticky. Medium bodied.

O - Hoppy and no finesse. But, it's a good thing sometimes.

Couldn't find any bottle date. Poured in to a nonic.

A fairly hazy copper color with a two-finger fluffy, light tan, head. Left some decent lacing and the head settled in to a nice thin layer of bubble on the top of the beer,

Dank, resiny, dank bitter hops. Some sweet toasted malts. The hops obviously steal the show in the smell department.

Bitter and earthy hops start out strong, mellow out in to some sweet maltiness. Sweet rolls and light caramel. Nice, bitter finishes lingers on, but just long enough.

Smooth, almost creamy, carbonation. Medium bodied and very drinkable.

This has always been a favorite IPA of mine, but I never have the chance to drink it all that often. It's incredibly well balanced and leaves the drinker satisfied.

I had to check out the West coast rave since most West coasters complain that the East coast IPA's aren't good enough. Here goes:

In a pint glass:

A: deep yet hazy orange/brown colored body, one finger white head, body too hazy for carbonation to be seen rising, foamy lacing in rings

S: centered around the pine with some hops coming in quite strong yet still second place. Some grapefruit, orange, and lemon came out as the beer warmed.

T: bitter through the hops and then the pine taking second place on this one, some caramel came out as the beer warmed.

M: medium, dry aftertaste with a slight creamy feel. A decent amount of carbonation was felt. It was mostly a drinkable beer yet feel content with just this one

O: well, ok west coast, this was a very good beer. Even though I'll end up giving this good ratings, next time I want this next to a really good East coast IPA and we'll see what happens. However, I will say I'm more impressed than I thought I would be.

Bought a big bottle of this from Bevmo in Ontario, California. Poured into a Baird pint glass. A romantic white thick head sat on top of this mossy green/brown ale for the length of its life. Very murky beer with signs of alligator bubbles brewing up from the bottom, feeding the slight carbonation of the drink. The scent is amaaaazing... full of hops and flowers, and not much else. No fruity side to this... just straight hoppy beer. The taste is heaven served both cold and when warmed in the room. Overall, this is probably the greatest IPA i've ever had, and I see why Green Flash has earned its reputation. I will come back to this beer whenever I have a chance, and if you haven't checked out this San Diego legend, do yourself a favor.

A - Poured from a bottle, with about a finger-thick head. Deep orange color, slightly hazy with almost no visible carbonation bubbles.

S - Hop aroma practically gushes out of this beer. Really clean citrusy scents of grapefruit, orange, lemon. Very subdued pine aroma.

T - Bitterness right up front with a bit of edge that lingers into the aftertaste. Tastes of grapefruit and some caramel malts.

M - Very dry with an almost creamy feel. Quite smooth with fairly low carbonation. This is definitely a drinkable beer.

O - A very good IPA but not as good as Union Jack, my current favorite. The bitterness is just a touch on the harsh side for my tastes, but everything else about it is excellent.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Koningshoeven chalice.

A: Pleasant, frothy head tops an amber-clear beer. Great lacing.

S: West coast hops...surprise, surprise. I suspect the C's...Definitely Cascade/Centennial. Pine, a touch of fruit, and a bit of garlic.

T: Disappointing, dull, and not nearly as good as I remember it. Vegetal hops are reminiscent of boiled cabbage. A pine bite on the endtaste can't make up for the muddled and poor maintaste. Dry finish.

M: Lightly carbonated. The sense of flatness comes from the boring flavor, rather than the actual mouthfeel.

O: I can't recommend this particular iteration of what I'm sure is a very fine IPA. Alas.
