Luminescent gold in the glass with a faint haze.

Citrus, grass and pine square-dance in the nose with more complex Birch bark notes as it opens up.

A big mouthful of flavor, terrific interweaving of bright top notes - lemongrass, tangerine - with a light caramel base. Silky mouthfeel and a bitter zap-and-fade on the finish.

Really, really nice!

Not quite a hop bomb, but close to that mark. Big hoppy aroma with warm herbal notes. Hops kick in right from the start, with a dual pine rosin and bitter citrus character. Solid amber malt with the barest touch of toastyness. The high abv is surprising, as there is no raw or hot alcohol flavor. Very well done.

Cloudy amber with large, thick head of off-white bubbles. Lace is intricate and detailed. Exquisite.

Nose is boldly hopped -- lots of big citrus and pine resins. Impressive!

Taste is sharp, even bitter, with tons of heavy-duty grapefruit hops. Definitely a bold hop bomb for hop-heads. Every IPA fan should give this one a try, as it's a monster (and "only" 7.3% AV -- not even a double or Imperial IPA)!

A 22oz bottle shipped out to the East Coast from Escondido, CA

A - A cloudy copper, with 2 big fingers of head, and a massive sticky lace left all over the glass, all the way down

S - The smell is outstanding. A hop lovers dream. Huge citrus notes, floral. Grapefruit, slight bitter finish. Well balanced...

T - A huge hop wallop up front, with big citrus and piny flavors. Extremely well balanced.

M - Full bodied, very high carbonation! Oily and amazingly hoppy aftertaste.

O - Wow, another damn good west coast IPA. Very happy that Green Flash will be distributing to Georgia very soon. It wil be a regular purchase. If you are a hophead, get this beer if you can...

Pours cloudy orange amber with a fluffy meringue head that hangs around 'til the finish and leaves excellent lacing.

Smell is tangerine citrus along with orange flesh and grapefruit.

Taste is citrusy and pithy. A hint of malt is in the finish, along with more pith.

Feel is crisp and clean. Smooth juicy citrus leaves a bitter finish that outperforms some DIPA/IIPA's.

What a great beer, though not complex, does exactly what I want.

Re-reviewing this since the 2nd time I drank a bottle, I didn't pour it as aggressively and had a much smaller head. I don't know if this even makes sense, but I swear I think the gigantic head hid all the hop oils and carbonation.

12 oz. bottle with no date but I'm assuming this is super fresh since it just got shipped to Tennessee yesterday.

Appearance:

1st Bottle: Pours a dark red/golden color with 4 fingers of a huge head. I guess I poured it too aggressively.

2nd Bottle: Poured very carefully this time and got about a half finger of head.

Smell:

1st Bottle: As soon as I opened the bottle I could smell huge hop notes. Pine, mango, citrus. The smell from the glass is along those lines but much more intense.

2nd Bottle: This time the aroma wasn't as intense but still along those lines.

Taste -

1st Bottle: Very nice. Not as intense as the smell but still the same flavors in general. Hoppy but not overpowering. Has a nice malt backbone to it.

2nd bottle: Actually way more intense than the smell. The smell is actually much more muted than the flavor. Usually it's the other way around for most beers. VERY hoppy flavor. Mostly pine and just super bitter.

Mouthfeel:

1st Bottle: Creamy but my only complaint is that it is slightly watery.

2nd Bottle: Very nice carbonation and not watery at all.

Overall: Great IPA. First bottle didn't blow me away but the 2nd time when I poured it carefully, the flavors really came out and didn't get trapped in the head. I never thought a pour would make this much of a difference but it made this beer much better. Maybe I'm just crazy.

Wow this beer definately gets some good reviews thats for sure maybe i should of bought more anyway it pours a dark orange hue which leaves a creamy two finger head and some nice lacing an impressive looking drop, the smell is an explosion of tropical fruit, pine, citrus and fresh flowers in bloom, the mouthfeel is medium bodied with a touch of stickiness about it and has tastes of tropical punch, grapefruit, orange zest, lychee, finger limes, marmalade with a slight touch of toffee maltiness slipping in between the hop explosion of fruitiness to settle the bitterness just a touch and overall a very nice AIPA that i would drink again cheers.
