Pours a beautiful amber with a pillowy cream coloured head that lasts and lasts, imbuing aroma and lacing as I drink. This is what an IPA should look like.

The nose is a little more mellow than I expected, mostly piney and almost spicy floral hops.

The tongue follows suit, dominated by the west coast hops. The pine leads, with an almost sweet undercurrent to it. Well constructed brew.

Goes down smoothe, and while the oily hops can linger a bit on the tongue it doesn't get overwhelming or onerous. A fine example of a great beer. Definitely worth getting ahold of if it's available.

Orange copper colour with a huge, bubbly white head at the top that very slowly recedes to leave a head about a thumbs width tall and with plenty of lacing.

Strong hop presence upfront from this one followed by a massive about of pine and grapefruit, definitely some citrus and a touch orange with minimal malts.

Grapefruit and bitter hops to begin with, quickly followed by some pine and lemony citrus flavours. Very well balanced and very bitter.

Smooth on the palate with a medium body and an overall sweetness that is naturally followed by huge levels of bitterness. The finish is slightly dry and overall carbonation is mild to moderate.

An excellent example of an IPA and exactly what you expect from one with all the usual contenders making an appearance.

Just finished this beer out of a 12oz bottle and WOW..I do see what the hype is all about.
This beer finally made it to CT last week.
I've had it on tap and in bottle and both ways it is a perfect IPA.

The beer is dark, unfiltered, almost dark brown.

Smells very hoppy, gives you a good idea of whats to come.

The taste is fantastic, hops, sweetness, sticky to the sip, leaves you wanting more.

Mouthfeel is great, lots of carbonation, sticky, hoppy, makes you pant for more.

Overall, this beer lives up to the hype. These west coast IPAs have got it down.

12 oz bottle poured into my lost abbey stemware glass

A - Good copper orange coloration, with a nice white head and good clinging lacing down the pint.

S - Beautiful intense hops aroma is a smack to the nose, with aromas galore. Piny, citrusy, just overall goodness.

T - Lovely hops. Profile of a great IPA here. Many differing flavors shine, w/ pine, citrus, earthiness, and nice malt backbone , very nice bitterness , Crisp and delicious.

M - Good mouthfeel, w/appropriate carbonation.

D - Based on its style, I could easily drink several of these. Keep in mind it is 7% with a load of IBUs, but if you are looking for a great hop-forward, smack in the nose IPA then this beer is a perfect match.
