he mountains of Summit and Nugget hops in this high gravity Imperial will thrill even the most experienced beer explorer. Savory evergreen and pineapple aromas mingle with flavors of bitter, resinous pine and grapefruit pith. A colossal rush of hoppy adventure!

Review taken in mid September 2013. 1st time ever having this offering from Green Flash.
Green Flash style brown bomber. Just a larger bottle of their unique 12 oz bottle. Very awesome bottles Green Flash has these days. Really nothing like it in American brewing. I enjoy their bottle shape and array of simple logos with each brew having a specific colored label. Imperial India Pale ale's label color is of a yellow color. Poured this into a Stemmed Tulip/Belgian style tulip glass.
A - pours a bright copperish color with a bright brass orange being the base color. A nice head sits quite large after the pour and settles into a sturdy ring of lace leaving good, slow moving stick to the glass.
S - a solid display of malt in the nose. Pine and citrus hops make for a fairly balanced aroma. A hint of fruit and a whiff of Very fresh dank hoppy character on the nose. A bit of peppery spice notes in the background.
T - sweet malt and citrus hop notes get things started. Quickly following is a pine like hop bitterness that shows off its massive hop bill. A very Green Flash style peppery spice note hits toward the finish. Again, a very fresh tasting double. Dank and resinous hop flavor with some hop spices and pepper. A hop head treat! Lovely.
M - good feel and coating effect. Texture and thickness are spot on to the brewery's styand perfect for dipa style in general. Taste and feel aren't quite as balanced as the nose, and the abv does hit you all the whole letting you know it. But this is a hop affair. I have no doubt this is what Green Flash is going for here. A real stud among the heavy hitters on the hop side of the beer world.
O - Green Flash have a very well crafted ale in Imperial India Pale Ale. It's brilliantly bitter and almost rough. But it warms the belly and gives our taste buds a real hop loaded ride to ibu city. This was a rare find for us here at home. One of the Green Flash brews that don't come around as often as a few of the others do, but when it does I will be grabbing a bottle. This thing sure is tasty.

Fruity, flowery, and malty, in that order. 4.10, across the board.

Look: It pours golden with a moderate slightly off white head. It does leave a quite a bit of lacing behind.
Smell: The initial aroma is stone fruit with a caramel background to it. The stone fruit is most favorable towards peach. Present are also citrus and a bit of floral.
Taste: The flavor has a strong hop bitterness highlighted by peach and floral elements. There is also a caramel backbone to it as well.
Feel: It has a moderate feel to it with moderately high hop bitterness that lingers well into the finish.
Overall, this is a quality imperial IPA that is not over done with the bitterness, but does provide a good bitter bite to it.
