Hopheads rejoice! Greenflash is definitely one of the standout breweries of the Southernest part of SoCal. Mendocino and San Diego Counties are a mecca for hopheads to be sure.
The Imperial IPA pours with a substantial creamy head with true brew lacing and a yeasty golden complexion. The nose is rife with hoppy bitter tingles and blossoming floral notes. Underlying oat textures the nose but it's mostly overwhelmed by the hops.
Greenflash doesn't pull any punches...in that the hop flavor punches your palate into submission. Is there even malt flavor there? I'm sure there is in order to subdue this beers lofty IBU. Tangy citrus notes are teased out of the hop flavor and the finish is long and seemingly everlasting.
Overall this beer is one to shy away from if you're new to aggressively hoppy beers, but for those hopheads I referred to in the beginning - this is definitely worth a go.
