22 ounce bomber poured into a pint glass. My 2nd Green Flash beer (Hop Head Red) since they are started distributing here within the last month.

A - Yellow/orange with very soapy thick white 1 1/2 finger head... leaving significant lacing. Very great looking beer!

S - A hopheads delight. Very reminiscent of other west-coast IPA's, but being an imperial, it's more in your face. No surprise that there's tons of citrus / grapefruit / pine. Not much more than that.

T & M - Lots of bitter hops. Followed up by some malt, but the hops definitely is the most prevalent here. Medium to full body with decent carbonation. Alcohol nicely hidden considered it's 9.4%. This one sneaks up on you.

Overall - Granted, I love this style and am a hophead so I give it high marks. It's not my favorite DIPA, but it's up there. I would highly recommend it.

No date on bomber. None of the new GF beers to arrive in Atlanta seem to have any dating indicated. Very annoying.

Appearance--whatever, nothing to twitter about.

The aroma, taste, and mouthfeel are fantastic. A balanced yet kick-ass DIPA with unwieldy hops in it tamed by the master brewers at GF. Great combination of vegetal Summit with resiny-fruity Nugget.

Why this does not get as much praise as the somewhat similar Sucks is beyond me. This is better, with the disparate elements coming together more harmoniously.

A great DIPA. Gotta try it.

22 oz bottle into a pint glass.

A: Pours a beautiful copper color. The head is two fingers high, with a shade barely off-white.

S: This definitely fits on the piny end of the IPA spectrum. However, there's also a kiss of fruity notes - fruit candies, mainly, and even some tropical hops. I do get a bit of malt, also. Nice aroma, but not quite as enrapturing as the one from their regular West Coast IPA.

T: As expected, the focus is on pine-forward hops. It opens the beer up fairly bitterly. The finish has a faint kiss of something resembling pineapple, along with some booze and sugar cookie-esque malts. The onion-y-ness of the Summit is pretty restrained, only appearing once it warms up (but at least it's not as oniony as it would have been if was made with Mosaic...hiyo!) The best part of this brew are the twinge of tropical fruits that appear on occasion.

M: It has a coarse, astringent feel. This actually dries the beer out nicely, at the cost of feeling somewhat harsh. After a few sips, it smooths out somewhat. But still, it remains pretty bitey throughout. It isn't really easy to drink, due to the fact that it's kind of heavy-feeling, as well.

O: It's okay. Certainly, I've had far better IPAs/DIPAs (from this very brewery, actually). There's just nothing here that excites me - and I expect to be excited by a DIPA.

A: clear medium gold body, a few fingers of off-white head; smattering of lace behind

S: citrus and herbs, notes of spice and flowers

T: lots of citrus suggesting orange and grapefruit, herbs and hints of spice pepper the ale; malt grain caramel sweetness and body balance out the hops nicely

M: medium-weight, slight carbonation, slightly slick, bittering up front and on the finish, slight chew

O: really great stuff - features Nugget and Summit hops - a real tight, crisp and delicious DIPA. Git sum.

A - Hazy gold orange body, with a small white head that laces expansively.

S - Quiet malt and mild fruit esters. A line of pith.

T - Strong bitter brew, with opening of grapefruit, underpinning of sweet honey malt notes. Mid-point cuts bitter, and the close continues that direction, until a mild spike of fruit in the fade.

M - Moderate carbonation, significant drying, some building of hop oils.

O - Decent IIPA, and certainly one that hides the significant alcohol within. Satisfying.
