Pours a pale yellow-orange with a fluffy 3 finger white head, very clingy and reduces slowly.
The nose on this magnificent brew is, by far, the most reminiscent of good weed that I've ever smelled in a beer- a moist leafiness, a grapefruit dominant citrus cocktail and delicate tropical fruit hints with a nice coating of florally, agave nectar-like sweetness to the whole thing.
Palate is big bodied with a small but sufficient honeyed sweetness that fits in perfectly with the intense hop slickness, while the completely oppressive hop bitterness comes in big and brings just a hint of toast from the malt. A citrussy juiciness pushes that malt back into the shadows, and the bitterness just keeps on rolling. Alcohol is there but easily forgettable. More citrus rind on the finish, pithy and bitter, with a very long puckering bitterness, some dark resinous characteristics and a big dryness.
Easily one of my favorite DIPAs and certainly the best I've had in probably about 3 months. Enough juiciness and bright hop flavors to strike a solid balance with the massive bitterness. And that heavenly aroma... sigh...
