The beer has comes in an amber/orange color.

The aroma is peachy, grapefruit, and citrus aroma and very dank.

The flavor is hugely peach, grapefruit with a slight pine dryness. It’s very juicy with its hop character. There is a bready sweet malt to finish it out.

The body is medium/light to make it really drinkable.

The beer is very smooth, easy drinking, yet quite complex. I’m really surprised by how well this beer held up because it was bottled November 2012 when I had this. I’ve had two of the same batch, and despite it being over 6 months, the hops still hold. I didn’t really get any “old” hop flavors.

This one really blew me away and is going up there with my favorite Double IPAs. This is underrated in my mind and I really recommend it.

A: Goldish-orange in color, leaves a good head and nice lacing

S: Piney hops, citrus hops, pineapple, and some grapefruit

T: Burst of citrus hops lightly backed with some pine hops, can notice a little pineapple and grapefruit as well, good sharp bitterness as well, bitterness lingers a little but it's light and is a complement

M: Very light for a IIPA, slightly oily, really crisp, really good carbonation level too

O: Really good beer, and really light and crisp for a IIPA, definitely recommend buying if you see it, would make an exceptional beer for summer time

Green Flash Brewing is another wonderful San Diego brewery. Having visited this fine city during Beer Week 2012, I discovered for myself the embarrassment of beer riches that are available to thirsty visitors. Obviously, any brewer wishing to make it here must make some great beer. Green Flash need not worry. Particularly when producing this high gravity IPA.

Its appearance evokes a pleasant Belgian Pale Ale, the heady is thick and chunky and slow to subside; the body is a cloudy amber, alive with a rushing school of carbonation bubbles. The nose overpowers your senses with an intense explosion of pine needles – imagine a forest in your nostrils. The palate is invaded by an aggressive citrus army consisting of pineapple, mango and peach wielding their weapons, thrusting them into the tongue. There is no quarter today.

And yet, despite this, the body is surprisingly light; not the chewy biscuit one would expect from such a hop bomb. While I could not drink more than one at a single sitting, I would most assuredly try. This is just another superb beer from “America’s finest City.”
