Sampling a cellar temp snifter. The beer pours a hazy copper hue with a bleached white head of .5 cm that fades slowly to a wispy surface layer.
Aroma is white grapes and wine with a little bubble gum and a general fruity esters. Very pleasing nose.
The first sip reveals fine rolling carbonation and an average body with sticky textures. The flavor is similar to nose with a sweet fruit hit of white grape and wine with some rock candy and sweetness. No booze or hops anywhere. Very approachable and complex tripel. A nice brew that I enjoy a lot and would definitely try again. A great example of the style that would even be good for newer folks to the style. Nothing over the top but well nuanced.

Pours hazy shiny golden, creamy white head that eventually subsides to a thin sticky lace.
Summer floral-fruity smell, not as spicy or acidic as Belgian originals, with sweet apple, pear, honey, faint banana, small hints of tropical fruit, blond orchard fruit, a light biscuity maltiness and maybe some faint candi sugar.
There's a strong fruitiness in the taste that works well with the alcohol, really sweet, juicy and rich. Huge cherry plum and overripe white grapes (with the smallest bit of acidity), apricot, peach, apple, even plum, pineapple and sweet citrus. Lots of floral honey, low spiciness, tho there's a rather thick yeastiness present (some hints of vanilla, pepper, some faint aromatic herbs). The American hops are mostly "to blame" for the big fruity flavours, and they're felt just a bit in the finish.
Medium body, smooth carbonation, a bit thick, but fits the bill.
Not a traditional tripel, sure, but a very tasty beer. Wouldn't prefer this to a Chimay or a St. Bernardus, but that's just me.

Bomber split between two Surly Darkness tulips. Pours a hazy bright dark golden color. Finger of creamy off-white head which dissipates toa thin crown. Moderate lacing.
Very fruity aroma. Tropical esters typical of the style like banana, orange, passionfruit, etc. Candi sugar, caramel, honey, and quite a lot of sweetness as well. Floral and perfumey hops and mild spicy phenols.
The flavor is much more rich and complex than the nose. Definitely a sweetness between the candi sugar and yeasty esters; a ton of tropical and citrus fruits. A bit of a subtle caramelized dark rum or brandy flambé combining the sweetness and slight alcoholic presence. A lot spicier than the nose would let on; definitely a hint of both hoppy and phenolic white pepper and clove. Very sweet, but finishes spicy.
Light-medium bodied with fairly high carbonation. Crisp but with a very subtle alcoholic warmth/creaminess.
This is a very good, but not world-class tripel. As far as American versions of this style go, however, this one does well. Alcohol warmth is a little exaggerated and the yeast is complex, but not particularly mind-blowing. It relies on the hoppy spices a little more than the yeast itself. Still a great attempt.
