Poured from the tap into a pint glass.
The color is dark orange/amber and a bit cloudy. There is no head when the beer got to me but some lacing as if there had been a slight finger or two before settling off.
The smell is bitter with some earthy funk to the nose. An interesting tangy citrus flavor that is just slight compared to other American IPAs.
The taste is bitter and tangy, with some tart grapefruit and bitter earthy flavors. So floral flavor comes out after a few sips and my tonge seems to calm down to the bitterness and allows me to enjoy this beer a bit.
The feel of this beer is pretty drinkable and goes down well but does leave a bitter aftertaste. It is harsh and it might be a good idea to have a glass of water nearby just to make sure it make not feel too bitter. A great hop experience all in all.

A: deep amber brown with red-orange highlights; few fingers of tan head slimmed to a persistent foam cap
S: floral orange citrus, subtler resin and caramel malt; some suggestions of pith and pine
T: sweet caramel malts push through the citrus and flower of the hops, and some spicy and herbal elements appear
M: medium-weight and fuzzy smooth, mild chewiness, rustic and hearty
O: a nice ale, combining a red with an IPA and using Amarillo, Warrior and Nugget hops. Possibly more attractive to fans of red/amber ales than to fans of pale ales.
