A - Pours a rusted orange, dark pumpkin perhaps, and quickly builds a solid tan head, two fingers worth. Great hoppy lacing, sticky, rings the glass all the way to the bottom.
S - Big nose on this beer. First whiff I get plenty of pine, thick fresh cut pine. Follows with sharper citrus, tart grapefruit. This has a third element as well, more bitter grassy notes hit as well. I also get the malty presence in there, a toasted malt backbone that has a "dry" toasty smell.
T - As good as expected from the aroma. First hit are those piney hops resins, dry and crisp but not over the top. Gets into the citrusy grapefruit rind taste, this one can't be called a "juicy" citrus beer, but it's there. I really liked the interplay with the malts here, that dry toasty malt bill matches well. It makes for a great crisp beer.
M - Pretty standard IPA here, medium crisp body and carbonation, well done.
O - Is it a hoppy Amber, or a malty IPA? I don't know, nor care, because it's just a really nice drinking beer. Great balance with big aroma and flavor for me. I appreciate that it's "different" enough to stand out from the huge collection of IPAs out there.
