A: Pours a clear mahogany brown that only appears red when held to light. 2 plus fingers width of tan colored head has above average retention, before settling down to a thin film. Leaves a good amount of lacing.

S: Citrus and piney hops are the first aromas I get, with orange rind and grapefruit. This is followed by a big malty presence with sweet malts and caramel. Very nice, but could be more robust as a whole.

T: A nice balance of malt and hops. Again, caramel malts are prominent, and are coupled nicely with earthy, piney hops. Citrus notes are faint on the tongue, but the bitterness is certainly not faint. As I progress through the drink the malts fade and the hops completely take over. Really nice tasting beer here

M/D: Medium body, carbonation on the higher side which combined with the big bitterness give it a biting quality. Drinkability is good.

O: Overall, a very good beer. I would most definitely drink this again.

Clear as a bell deep amber with a finger and a half foamy ecru head that dissipates quickly, lacing is slight, lots of fine bubbles.

Aroma is juicy, the dry hopping with Amarillo gives this a robust orange grove blast to the nostrils, very inviting.

Taste is juicy orange and pine needles, hops are out front for sure.

Mouthfeel is medium, dry finish and enjoyable medium bitterness on the swallow. ABV is masterfully hidden as this is a smooth and easy drinking AIPA.

Easily my favorite effort from Green Flash of the ones I have tried so far, and well worth trying for those seeking hop forward selections.

Bottled 4/13

Opaque blood orange copperish hues with thin lasting head.

Smell is piney resin and bright floral hops. Sweet malty breadiness. Pure California outta the bottle.

Huge rush of sweet malt hop. Grapefruit pith and pine.

Medium body and sticky lacing. Clean and refreshing sensation-I could drink this all day.

For me, just the right amount of bitterness, sweetness and malt. A very well balanced and refined brew.
