Le Freak pours a pale golden yellow with amber highlights and a foamy white head that subside quickly to a rocky froth leaving oily lacing on the glass.
The nose picks up citusy hops and pale malts with a hint of spiciness.
The flavor is aggressive with citrusy hops in abundance, full pale somewhat biscuity malts and an earthy/spicy background that builds as the beer warms. Nicely balanced between the three elements.
The body is medium and the prickly carbonation accentuates this aggressive beer.
A very nice take on the style, combining American double IPA and Belgian Trippel.
