22oz bomber poured into a tulip.
A: Slightly hazy amber / copper with a thin, carbonated, off-white head that pours strong and shrinks as you drink. Amazing streams of micro bubbles that jettison up the sides of the glass. Some of the most impressive carbonation I've ever seen!
S: Esters, yeast, cinnamon, and granny smith apples on the nose.
T: Piney and citrus bitterness and tons of spice - clove, pepper, coriander, all spice. Bready, yeasty malt flavors impart some sweetness. The spice and bitterness hits back in the end.
M: Creamy texture. You can feel the carbonation dance around in your mouth with each sip. At first, it's a light bodied beer, but moves into the medium bodied area once the spice kicks in. Very nice warming feeling on the throat.
O: Not a typical Belgian, not a typical IPA. But Green Flash puts its own stamp on the style and blew me away with its appearance, taste, and mouthfeel. Not as aromatic as I would have expected, but still a very strong beer.
