A- Pours a light copper golden color with about a finger of head. Not nearly as billowy and extreme as some of the other B(I)PAs from Belgium. Lacing is sticky. Pillars of foam stick to the side of the glass.
S- The Belgian side definitely sticks out in the nose more then the IPA. Spicy banana and other light fruit. Maybe some pineapple. Very fresh.
T- Has a lot of trippel qualities to it but can taste the hops better then some others of the similar style. It starts off very trippel and finishes off with the american pale ale taste. The bitter hops linger on the palate. I can detect some pineapple in the taste along with the familiar banana and spice. Might also be some slight citric flavors to it from the hops. After warming a bit more I am getting some clove.
M- Definitely could never tell there was over 9%ABV in this beer. It goes down so easy with almost no bite. Just tastes fresh but after a few gulps you do start to feel the slight warming sensation.
D- As with most good strong craft beers, it would be hard to have more then one bomber. Drinking it could never be more pleasant but drinking more then one bottle of it could be overwhelming and at over 9%, you wont last long! After a beer like this I could go to either a good IPA or light trippel and then finish off with something like a Double Stout to finish off the night.
I would also like to note that this style is different in that nearly every beer I try in this style tastes completely different and had it's own unique qualities to it, more then I can say for most mainstream styles. Great iteration of an awesome style.
