Packaging: 22 oz. brown bottle
Glassware: Signature glass
Purchased: Single from Midtown, Nashville
A: Light copper in color, the beer is clear on the first pour and then hazy as I work down to the bottom of the bottle. Off-white head is a rocky 3+ fingers high, showing both excellent lacing and retention.
S: Primary aromas are of hops, both piney and citrusy, with lemon and grapefruit notes. You can also smell a little Belgian yeast funkiness.
T: Taste is first and foremost of hop bitterness. There is a malty backbone that brings a little sweetness to the table, and this is more evident as the beer warms up, but still the hops are the main aspect. Other flavors include spicy and acidic elements.
M: Carbonation is high and the body is fairly thick. Aftertastes are zesty, bitter and mostly dry.
O: More IPA than Belgian, I felt this beer definitely improved as it warmed up a bit. Probably not a style I'd seek out often, but I was glad to give it a taste.

A: 3 finger white head of robust foam, orange and bubbly.
S: Bubble gum, banana, Belgian yeast, spicy hops
T: Holy Moly! A lot going on here. Banana/Clove yeast like flavor quickly gives way to piney, spicy hops. This is a wonderful hybrid of Belgian Tripell followed by West Coast IPA. This is a big league beer, as to be expected from Green Flash.
M: The only drawback on this is mouthfeel. It is a little light, but only because my expectations were higher with the ABV. Surprisingly drinkable.
O: Highly recommended. If you like this style, Green Flash nails it. I have had 3-4 different Belgian IPAs and this is definitely the best I've had thus far.
