Nearly flawless beer.... beatiful beer... nice amber colorkng with huge fluffy white head... nice head retention. Huge aromas... the name fits the nose... freaky funky aromas.. lots of belgian yeast fighting with a huge helping of citrus hop presence.. medium bodied and green flashes best beer... atleast from the oned ive had.

This was the best beer I have had in a long, long time. I went into it knowing nothing about it - pure experiment. I poured it at the end of the evening, as I settled in to watch TV. And nearly two hours later, I realized I was still nursing it, unwilling to let it go. And when it was gone, I missed it. When I woke up, I thought about it.

I had a crush on this beer.

Pours a sunny orange with a fluffy white head and a torrent of carbonation. Aroma is grainy and phenolic, light orange zest, clean and malty. Flavor is rich and citric, with a tang of orange, clove and allspice and a surprising and uncharacteristically deep bitterness, a slight metallic bite, but balanced by a clean, musky malty bite. Mouthfeel is buttery and rich, accentuating the bitterness. The best part is the delicious deep abiding bitterness, that clings to the back of the tongue.

A must try.

Had at the Local in coral gables, FL. Arrives in a duvel snifter.

A- Is overflowing in the tulip glass due to a hasty pour from the bartender. What results is a two-finger white head atop a medium amber colored body. What a crouzen. It slowly recedes down the glass with beautiful cobwebs of lacing following.

S- Tropical fruit aroma of pineapple and pear with some citrus hops trailing and amplifying the bouquet. Very apparent Belgian yeast that's rich and tangy.

T- Heaven. Yeast, hops and some spice all commingle to create a bittersweet citrus flavor that's irresistible. Inevitable pineapple notes plus grapefruit, tangerine and apricots. The grassy bitterness lingers on the palate and begs for more sips to which I quickly submit. Every ingredient and every taste seems to work in perfect unison delivering a knockout of taste.

M- Highly prickly and tight, especially in the aftertaste, but not overly dry. Medium-high carbonation and a malt body that's certainly strong enough to compete with an IPA which further constitutes its BIPA style.

O- In many aspects, this is the king of Belgian IPAs. All of the key factors are there: intense fruity bitterness from the hops; rich, somewhat chalky yeast character; complimentary malt body; vibrant carbonation. Truly a world-class beer.

On cask @ the Blind Tiger 10-03-08

A - Hazy light orangey color, with thin white head. Great lacing

S - Great floral aroma up front, bordering on citrus fruit as well. Good hop presence in the mix

T - As delicate as the aromas are, there is quite a big taste. Plenty of hop bitterness, per the style, with hints of spices

M - The hops attacks in a totally different way than your normal IPA, so amazing, I love hoppy beers and this beer on cask was unlike any type of hop attack ive ever had. with a pretty dry finish

D - Plenty of interesting layers to this brew, but superbly drinkable. If it wasnt for $7 a mug price i would drink a whole cask of this

Overall this is one of my favorite beers ive had in a while, simply outstanding. Ive had this beer from the bottle, but on cask its a totally different beast, simply outstanding.

Pours a cloudy, copper color. Head is very creamy but dissipates quickly, with medium carbonation left behind. Smells of wheat, oranges, and a slight twang. The beer begins with a citrusy taste that develops into a sweet maltiness that ends with a slight hop bite. Mouthfeel is medium-light to medium. The drinkability is great but because it is a hefty beer not thank drinkable. Overall an amazing beer, especially being one of my first blends for a beer.
