A: poured from a bomber into a beer mug. Thick black liquid covered with a nice tan head. Dissipated quickly.
S: smells like brownies are in the oven. Hints of hop aroma and alcohol. Heavenly.
T: rich chocolate fudge gives way to bitter cocoa & coffee, then finishes with a complex mix of bitter and floral hops.
M: moderate to thick feel lingers pleasantly on the palate, although the drying effect of the alcohol is also felt loud & clear in the rest of the mouth. Lovely sensation despite the utter lack of carbonation.
D: at 8.8% ABV I wouldn't expect to drink these all night, but I've had stronger Imperials where the alcohol was better hidden. Still, I'm left /wanting/ more even if I know better :)

Pours black with 1 finger tan head.
Smells of roasted malts, coffee, and maybe a little bit of dark fruits.
Tastes of roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, moderate (hop?) bitterness. Very slight hint of the alcohol in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel is full and just right for an 8.8% double/imperial stout.
Overall a good stout that I would not turn down if offered.

had on-tap at Pazzo's in Lexington, KY.
The beer pours black in color with an impressive mocha head. Can't get a real feel for the appearance since it came in a cold pint glass from a bar.
Intense roasted malt and coffee aromas to this. Plenty of dark chocolate aromas. hint of smoke & licorice. sweet notes as well.. perhaps brown sugar.
The roasted malt flavor is powerful with a hop note. Strong coffee and dark chocolate flavors with a bit of licorice. Lots of sweet milk chocolate on the end. This is exactly what I've been looking for in a stout... strong on the malts & hops that doesn't crowd out the sweet notes. Perfect!
Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Interesting that it wasn't fuller considering the ABV & all the flavors going on.
O: An outstanding stout. perhaps my favorite to date. Green Flash is a strong brewery that keeps kicking out great beers.

A: Pours deep space black, with an above average level of carbonation, and a three finger mocha puffy futon of a head that stays put at one like a West Bank settlement. Epic lacing.
S: Salty dark chocolate and watered-down latte lead the way into roasted malts, roasted coffee beans, ashy tobacco, and very faint hops.
T: Bitter chocolate, coffee beans, saltwater, and tobacco. Has a grassy, hoppy finish.
M: I actually really enjoy the heavier-than-normal carbonation on this AIS. Slightly viscous as it should be. Dry finish.
