7 month old bottle.
Pours lovely with a thick creamy light brown head and a dark body.
The smell has a lot of oat component to it with chocolate, and roasted malt.
Some hop /roasted malt bitterness up front. It has sweetness to it but is roastier than the smell would indicate with much more coffee. Chocolate and some oat. A light dark fruit flavor is in there as well.
Smooth and creamy big bodied but not all the way full. Some dryness.
Fairly straightforward and good imperial stout. Not super exciting though.

Growler into a pint. Enjoying on the evening of Alabama winning the national title. Roll tide.
A - Black hue with a thin tan head. Fair retention and lacing.
S - Chocolate, malts and a pinch of coffee.
T - Simple, nothing crazy here. Big smooth malts and roasted chocolate. Nothing complex, yet nothing sub-par.
M - Large medium body with low carbonation. Remains bold while not being creamy and overbearing.
O - Solid brew that I would like to enjoy again. Full growler fill at $17 was a bit high though...

Green Flash Double Stout has a thick, cascading, creamy, tan head, a very dark brown (essentially black) appearance, and an enormous, foamy lacing ring left on the glass. The aroma is of dark-roasted malts, oatmeal, raisin, prunes, and licorice, and the flavor is the same, with coffee and chocolate notes and a nice bitterness a the end of the sip. The alcohol is masked by the dark roastiness. Mouthfeel is medium to thick and velvety, and the finish is mostly dry, mild, and quite drinkable. Overall, this is a wonderful beer, and I am enjoying the sample.

Black with three fingers of mocha foam that dies down in a few minutes leaving a quilt of the same. Crazy lace. Smells of hops (pine, weed) then a huge malt presence. Molasses, cocoa, licorice, coffee and a bit of milk chocolate are all very strong. Flavor is sweet, coffee grounds and bitter all at once; not sure I like the juxtaposition versus a well integrated profile. Some molasses, dark figs and a little hershey syrup in there. When this beer first entered my lips, I noticed the body - it seemed thin and flat, then I gave it a light swish and some carb came out. Overall the body was poorly constructed with a lower than anticipated (even for a stout) and no body to back it up with a dry finish. Meh, has stuff going for it, but not that all impressed.
