This one pours from a 22oz bottle into an imperial pint glass. Emerges clear and bronze in color with a stark white colored head. Loads of lacing, head retention, the works. Two finger sized head recedes very slowly into a quarter inch froth atop the beverage.
This one is also a nose wrecker. Full of delicious hop goodness in the nose. Even with allergies, this one takes my nose and squeezes all aromas into its cilia. Piney and citrusy and delicious. There is also a nice bit of maltiness to back up the hoppiness, and some sweet alcohol presents itself nicely as well. Smells extremely fresh, like fresh hop cones.
Killer flavor as well. Very well balanced. I generally like beers that lean more toward hoppy than malty (balanced) but this one seems to marry the two quite well. There is still a prevailing hop bitterness and flavor, but the malt and alcohol combat that nicely and offer a semi balanced beer. ( As the beer warms slightly, the balance leaves the table and Mr. hoppy takes his rightful seat at the head). Quite bitter, very tasty.
The hops linger for a long time on the palate, and as this one warms, the hops slaps the palate and call it it's bitch. Very long, bitter finish with just the right amount of oiliness and lemon rind.
A bitter beer for sure, and a delicious one. As balanced as an overly hoppy beer can be for sure. The bitterness will certainly drive some away, but I dig it man. A great beer!

Reasonably fresh bottle with best by date of 7/2/14.
Full on hop aroma with hop oil, citrus, grass, grass.
One inch head and quite clear with amber (brown) body. Decent lacing.
Full hop flavor resembling the aroma with a stronger hop oil presence leaving a bit of distaste for my buds, but it isn't overwhelming or dominating thus allowing the other more enjoyable flavor to show forth. Solid malt body that balances and blends well.
Pretty big and quite enjoyable body with enough carbonation to accent the hops nicely and working well with the richness of the drink.
A solid DIPA. Too much hop oil and probably not quite as complex hop flavors as others. But this one drinks really nicely.

12 oz brown Green Flash style bottle with shades of Orange being the designated labeling color. Typical brilliance like all other Green Flash bottles. Just love them. Poured into a standard American Pint glass.
A - deep golden-orange body. Slightly off white head poured very nice and sat around the entire way down in form of a soapy thick ring of lace that left a good bit of stick.
S - more traditional hoppiness in the nose than in their other double ipa's. big grapefruit notes slam the front of the nose with chasers of lemon and pine. A hint of hop spice. Lovely, no a perfect incorporation of malt backbone. Light caramel and sweet breadiness with hints of alcohol in the back. Just a great nose!
T - grapefruit, lemon and light orange up front. Bitter pine notes are introduced toward the middle with the sweet but balanced caramel malt taking on a bigger load. Then comes the 'wrecker' part of it. Big grapefruit and fresh lemon give off a sharp bitterness in the finish.
M - full bodied with an exceptional feel and texture. Coating thickness Green Flash style. Alcohol is detected especially as Palate Wrecker warms a bit. Creamy mouthfeel and nicely balanced, but could be a bit too much for someone not into DiPa's that are meant to punish in a good way.
O - Palate Wrecker is a worthy bottling and has some real brilliance to it. I don't favor it as much as the other Green Flash double ipa's, but its still something ill buy every year. This is just another great offering from G Flash. It has equal quality and class to their other double ipa's, but still remains different in character. This is more traditional ipa turned up a few notches. Very enjoyable and well worth the experience over and over again.
