12oz bottled December 11, 2012...very fresh. Served at around 40-45F.
Pours clear amber with a thick two finger off-white head that sticks around forever leaving nice sheets and spots of lacing behind.
Aroma is big and dank hops, marijuana, onion, grapefruit, some pine and cat pee, dankity dank. Very good strength.
Flavor is chewy resinous hops, grapefruit, onion, marijuana, quite a big caramel malt backbone as well, needed to try to balance the biting bitterness. As it warms the bitterness subsides somewhat and the big malts come forward more. Decent alcohol bite too.
Mouthfeel is full-bodied for an IPA, sticky, good carbonation.
Pretty good dank DIPA. At first the bitterness was huge and biting...settles down quite a bit as the malts really kick in. I love unbalanced super-bitter IPAs and while this is quite good, it could have been better and lived up to its name more.

Shared 12 fl. oz. bottle, kindly provided by abemorsten. ABV is 9.5%. Hazy orange colour, large white head. Strong aroma of orange marmalade and fruity and resinous American hops. The flavour is indeed a "palate wrecker" - that is why this beer was chosen as the last beer of the evening at our tasting. Extremely hoppy flavour, but still, in its own weird way, fairly "well balanced" - mainly because the malty sweetness seems just right. to stand up to the hoppiness. Grapefruit, resin / pine and spruce. Yes, it is a "typically American double IPA", and I’ve "seen it before"- but still: Oh so GOOD! Halleluja!

From old, undated notes. Poured from the bottle.
Bright orange color.
Small white head; no lacing.
Smells strongly of high grade marijuana.
Medium mouthfeel, bordering on thick.
Taste is of grapefruit and great ganja. Booze is present but not overpowering.
A delicious beer.

Good solid imperial IPA. Not up there with the best, but nice and solid. In tap at Industry Public House on Leah's b-day weekend in Pittsburgh! Good ending for lunch!
Add: 7/29/20. Trip home from Lancaster after Joy and Andy's wedding. Yes.... It's a palate wrecker!
