Appearance - A clear copper/orange color with a half inch, off-white, cream colored head that appears to be bubbly/frothy. Some carbonation can be seen rising from the bottom of glass and lacing is retained around the edges.

Aroma - The smell is well blended combination of grapefruit, pine, and orange.

Taste - This is very similar to the aroma. From the hops, you have grapefruit and pine that adds to the bitterness of the beer; plus, sweetness arises from the orange flavors and malt backbone.

Mouthfeel - Carbonation hits the tongue followed by a smooth, sticky bitterness that accompanies the medium bodied beer.

Overall - Very flavorful, beautifully crafted by a great brewery. Perfect for all the hop heads out there!

Incredibly hoppy and strong.

Appearance: Hazy dark orange pour with a slightly off white head.

Smell: Aroma is straight dank hops, pine resin, herbal notes, slightly sweet citrus and very pleasant.

Taste: Holy crap! Bitter but lots of citrus/grapefruit assault the palate. ABV is apparent in this but it's so enjoyable I don't care. This has a great refreshing characteristic after your are done with your first drink.

Mouthfeel: It is so very smooth but so refreshingly different. The hoppiness doesn't dominate and is very balanced with the malt aspect of the beer. The beer beckons to have more.

It does live up to its name. Pleasant citrus taste with tongue shredding bitterness. Fantastic IIPA, one of my favorites.

Saw a lot of negative reviews for this and had to create an account just to chime in.

Sure this might get a negative review if

1) you dont like hops
2) you dont like citrus
3) you dont like high alcohol
4) you dont like IPAs

If , however, you like any and all of the above, this is the beer for you.

Standing tall , strong, and above peers like Stone Ruination, Green Flash West Coast IPA, any of the Oregon contenders, etc. This *is* the definitive west coast USA IPA. It reeks of scent, flavor, mouth-feel, and anything else you might want. It has grapefruit notes out-the-arse, and it does indeed, 'wreck' you palate. But that's only an issue if you want to eat during, not after. Chase this with a slice of pizza, a filet mignon, or ceviche- it doesn't matter. Your palate- true to word- will be cleansed, save for a slightly lingering citrus note. They should--- for diet conscious customers--- put out nutrition info, this must be ~250-300 cal/bottle, if that matters to you. With that said, enjoy. And drive safely home (aka taxi)

I love this stuff. It is a super, super hoppy, bitter DIPA. I love the smell and the taste thoroughly. The aftertaste does leave a bit to be desired though since the bitterness lingers a bit too much. But the high ABV and smell / taste outweigh the aftertaste for me. You can really only have one or two at a sitting but I highly recommend!
