Hop-forward and San Diego brewery inspired, this Pale Ale pays homage to San Diego’s craft beer corridor—30th St.® Uniquely floral and fruity notes from Warrior, Cascade and El Dorado Hops mingle with a hint of crystal malt, to build the flavors presented in our legendary American Pale Ale. Well-bittered and dry-hopped, this longtime neighborhood favorite is bold enough to suit the discerning palates of hop heads in the land of sunshine and the best IPA.

Bomber bottle w/o any freshness info that I can find. $6.99 at Decicco's in Ardsley, NY.

Pours lighter amber, with a moderate haze. Lifts a 3/4 inch head that says nicely.

Citric, floral and spiced hop nose.

Aggressive pale ale with more then moderate fruity/citric hop presence.

Nicely done and well worth a try. (318 characters)

L: Hazy gold under a 2” cream colored foam collar with a very fine bead.
S: Fruity nose with spice, grass, floral and citrus notes.
T: Big fruit flavors feature melon and citrus on the front giving way to a spicy, floral citrus rind hop bitterness. The bitterness is smooth and not harsh. Finishes slightly astringent from the hops.
F: Very creamy, medium carbonation and body.
O: An easy to drink pale ale packed with flavor. (433 characters)

Growler

Thanks for sharing, Josh!

Clear golden yellow and orange. Thick white head and nice lacing down the glass.

Pungent and powerful citrus aroma and somewhat sweet, especially for a pale ale. Some pine as well.

Citrus and hop bitterness along with a distinct pine bite. Very flavorful.

Medium mouthfeel. A pleasure to drink.

An incredibly delicious, easy drinking, hoppy pale ale. Perhaps my favorite of the style. Just great! (437 characters)

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a tall pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a bright and hazy golden orange with a lot of rising bubbles. Big three finger white head with good retention. Leaves a good amount of lacing.

Smell: A fruity, earthy, and floral hop forward aroma with good hints of citrus fruit and grass. Upfront citrus hops with hints of grapefruit, orange peel, lemon, melon, pineapple, mango, and apricot. Also some fruit hints of apple and grapes. Floral and earthy hops with hints of grass and pine. Solid malt presence with hints of biscuit, grains, caramel, and yeast. A pretty solid aroma.

Taste: Like the smell, a fruity, floral, and earthy hop driven taste with good notes of citrus fruit and grass. Citrus hops with some upfront notes of grapefruit, orange, mango, lemon, melon, apricot, and pineapple. Subtle fruit notes of apple, grape, and pear. Good presence of floral and earthy hops with notes of damp grass and pine. Backing presence of sweet malt with notes of caramel, grains, biscuit, and yeast. A pretty solid Pale Ale taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Juicy, crisp, and pretty smooth with a drying finish.

Overall: A very solid take on an American Pale Ale. Good mix of citrus and earthy hop flavors. (1,274 characters)

On tap at Toronado San Diego. Yellow and light orange beer, sudsy white head, 3/4" deep, strong retention. Aroma, mildly hoppy, mild cereal grain aspect to it, enjoyable, but given as much as this was talked up, I found the aroma to be just barely above run of the mill when it comes to west coast pale ales.

Taste, solid, delivers a good amount of citrusy and grapefruity hop presence, over a mild malt bill, probably no caramel to it. With the alcohol level, this really seems like an ipa. But I guess boundaries aren't what they used to be. Carbonation was big, bitterness was even bigger.

A pretty good pale ale, just once the abv gets to six percent, with this type of hopping, I dunno, the line really gets blurred with an ipa. Either way, a good choice, would like to see bottled, I'd pick up a sixer. (811 characters)

Had on tap at Mad Mex last night, brilliant clear copper bodied with a nice bright white head. Forms fine even lacing down the sides of my glass. Aroma has grapefruit/citrus/pine with some nice biscuit malts going on giving it a bready backbone to go with the expressive hop profile. Flavor was up front with citric/pine hops and a nice sugar coated malt backing. Nothing offensive more aggressive than most APAs in a good way. Definitely a beer I could have drank in number just went out for a burrito and a beer or two with my cousin and the kids. Mouthfeel is medium bodied even carbonation smooth slightly resinous with light hop oils. Drinkability was very nice, I can't wait to see this on tap when I'm on my own with a DD. (729 characters)
