On tap at the source
Poured a translucent golden yellow with pale yellow highlights when held up to the light and had a thin head leaving a little lacing sticking to the glass. The nose had some good hop character with various grains, citrus, and spice notes. The hops were there on the palate as well but was more bitter from the help of the citrus grapefruit but had spice and various grain accents. The brew was light to medium in body with a fair amount of carbonation which had a citrusy, mild hoppy, spice, and bitter finish. Honestly it was really bitter for a czech pilsner but was pretty tasty.

Glass: Standard US pint
Green Flash's Fizzy Yellow Beer is a fairly standard, but enjoyable, pilsener, with surprisingly notable lemon citrus flavors and scents. I enjoyed the beer quite a bit, and wouldn't hesitate to have another if available.
Arrives with a 1.5cm head of clean, white foam, composed of small and medium-sized bubbles, with above average retention. The head descends to a thin cap atop the body with a thicker ring around the glass. Lacing is minimal, but present, a few squiggles and lines along the sides of the glass. Body is a yellow-gold color, transparent, with visibly active and plentiful carbonation streaming from the bottom of the glass.
Aroma features notable lemon-like esters along with white bread dough and slight graininess. Pleasant, easy, and refreshing.
Taste reveals a good balance between bread-like, mildly sweet malts, lemon citrus, and bitter European hops. Tasting opens with bread-like and lightly sweet malts, leading into a mid-palate with notable lemon flavors, a hint of black peppercorns, and bread-like malts. The back of the palate has a flash of spicy, bitter hops alongside sweet bread-like malts and modest lemon. Aftertaste features European hop bitterness and subdued bread-like malts.
Beer is medium-light to medium in weight, with carbonation of medium intensity that manages to avoid causing this to be fizzy, but still have a noticeable presence. The result is a crisp lager that finishes semi-dry, with lingering European hop bitterness and little residual stickiness across the palate.

On tap at the Apex in Portland. This was left over from a GF tap takeover event.
The beer pours a striking gold color with pretty good head retention and light lacing. The nose is also attractive, as I pick up bread dough, light sandlewood and a hint of dry citrus and pepper. The flavor profile replicates the nose in this dry, crisp pilsner. The beer has good bitterness in the finish as well, almost too much for the level of malt this beer has. Otherwise, mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, with a fairly long, crisp and bitter finish.
A solid effort, no doubt, but I think that perhaps lagers aren't the brewer's strong suit.

Poured on-tap at Haven Gastropub in Orange, CA. Reviewed from notes.
A- Thin white head. Very clear orange-yellow color. Good carb.
S- Smells like a macro-lager. Not great. Light malts and somewhat grassy.
T- Like a Coors light. Not a great example to tease Stone with.
M- Medium to light bodied.
O- MEH.

On-tap at the Main Tap Tavern, on to the beer:
A patchy white head remains on top of this highlight yellow beer. Unlike its name, this isn't fizzy, but it is yellow. The nose is soft, featuring some grass and grape nuts.
Starts off straightforward, but seems to add a few more dimensions of flavor as the pint goes down. Straw and some fruitiness are immediately noticed, additional notes of honey and herbal hops eventually get thier due. Light and easy in the mouth with smooth carbonation, which in turn makes this beer refreshing and easy to drink.
This is not the typical fizzy yellow beer you see everywhere. Green Flash's version is much more smooth, less nasty, and more flavorful than the typical beer consumed at backyard BBQ's, tailgates, etc.

Had on tap at Neighborhood in San Diego.
Beer looks like its name. A clear straw color that is a shade darker than you normal light lager beer.
Beer smells a little bit of grass and hops.
Beer tastes very dry and sharp intially, and then opens up with a bit of a hoppy flavor. The beer tastes like a souped up version of your normal boring "lite" beer. Very nice.
Beer is thin but goes down very easy.
Pleasantly surprised. Not bad at all.

On tap at Green Flash taproom 12/30/11.
Golden yellow and completely clear. A little head laces a samll thin ring around the glass. The aroma is completely reminiscent of a Czech Pilsner. Lots of lemon zest and european yeast funk. No hops present in the nose. Lemony with a good pils malt backbone. Tart to bitter malt/yeast combo. Very little hops bitterness at the end. Some mild nuttiness in there too. A complex Pilsner. Watery feel that makes it super drinkable.
I love a good Czech Pilsner, but I usually have to find them in the US through an importer. This is the first 100% American made Pilsner that I've loved. It's complex but very light at the same time. This is what every fizzy yellow beer should be.
