Poured from a bomber into a Teku glass. Clear gold in color with a substantial bubbly head. Has a fairly strong aroma of banana, cloves and a bit of barnyard funk. These are all present in the taste, but everything's fairly muddled, almost like it has been cut with water. Medium light mouth with a lot of carbonation, leaving it dry and crisp. This is the first Green Flash brew that has left me disappointed. I much prefer their Rayon Vert.

Clear yellow with a white covering. Aroma of malt, orange, lemon, and a slight basement funkiness. Tastes of lemon, white grape, faint brett and yeast. Light and dry. Nothing wrong here, but nothing to write home about.

Poured into a snifter

A: A hazy soft yellow with off-white one-finger head that settled quickly. Curtainy lacing.

S: Funky, barnyard (oats, hay), Brett, Belgian yeast, lemons.

T: Smooth and semi-sweet. The citrus slides in with a nice Belgian yeastiness backing it up. Fresh lemons, a bit floral. Very summery. Brett and cloves in the background.

M: Light to medium with medium carbonation. A dry finish.

O: A very decent saison from Green Flash. Would try again. Very sessionable.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a bright yellow color with a 1 inch head, lots of carbonation. Smell is musty, spices, yeast. Taste is lots of spice, some lemons, a bit of mustiness as well, very easy drinking. Feels light in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer, but there are better saisons out there.

Howler fill at Liquor Shed in Casper.

A hazy light gold pour that produced about an inch of foam but it never goes away. Lacing? Yep.

It smells some what spicy with some of that ginger, coriander, hint of pepper, and a dash of lemon or orange?

The taste matches the smell. Good gingery notes and oranges, The ginger gives me a little bit of heat when I swish the beer in my mouth. I don't really get any coriander but it's still a good tasting brew.

Light body and carbonation.

A pretty good Saison and the fact that it's only 4.2% abv is something I like aboot it. Yeah, the body does suffer but there's no problem drinking the 32oz in one sitting.

Bottled on 05/26/13.

The colour is pale gold with a tint of cool orange. The liquid is clear. The foam builds with a fizzing sound; it is white compact and two fingers high. It sinks slowly leaving lots of lacing.

The smell is hoppy and bitter. Orange peel and tart unripe berries. Soapy phenols and spicy flavours. Sticky sweet notes in the background. Cleaner and sweeter than expected.

The taste is fresh and bitter-tart with smooth fruity notes of orange peel, yeast, alcohol, orange juice and cloves. Medium body. The (less sweet) aftertaste got some alcohol, peppery spicy flavours and refreshing bitter hops. Cardamom and cooves in the finish.

The carbonation is strong, the many large bubbles are long-lived. The liquid is light.

Easy to drink with pleasant spices. I am surprised that the bitterness is so fresh after almost a year.

A: pours a dark orangish yellow, little head, cloudy
S: funk, spice, fruits tropical, love the barnhouse funk
T: light, little sweetness, spice possibly light pepper, funky, orange, flavor fades really fast
M: highly carbonated, fine bubbles
O: not bad saison, wish the flavor didn't fade off the tongue so fast, very refreshing though

Poured form the bottle into my large Chimay goblet.

A- translucent straw color. White head quickly dissipated

S- Love the smell of this. Belgian yeast, pepper (grains of paradise?), fruit (hint of banana and some tropical/citrus)

T- Kind of a let down from the smell, but it's just a bit too acidic for me. Lots of citrus, especially lemon.

MF- Very thin. Acidity tingles the tongue and the back of the throat.

Overall, not my favorite saison, but not a bad beer at all. I have acid reflux and generally don't care for citrusy beers, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

PS, pairs nicely with basil citrus turkey jerky.

Bottled on 3/04/13 12oz bottle poured into a tulip glass.

A: Lemon yellow translucent body with a frothy white head. Tons of lacing and lots of retention.

S: I have a cold so I cant smell much, but I can pick up earth scents as well as yeast.

T: Lemon and ginger are present.

M: Very crisp carbonation. Tart mouthfeel on the back end. Some lingering bitterness. Very refreshing.

O: I havent had any from this style before, however I could see this beer being a go to summer brew. If I see it closer to its bottled date I will be sure to pick it up.

Pours two fingers of head on a hazy light golden colored body. Looks great.
The aroma is bright lemon and banana.
The taste is watery, mild lemon bitter and grainy.
The texture has a nice fizzy to it with an overall medium body.
The flavor lagged in this brew. Borderline flavorless.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Duvel tulip glass.

Appearance: Pours a fairly hazy golden orange with a lot of rising bubbles. Huge four finger white head that quickly fades into a thin patchy layer. Leaves a decent amount of lacing around the glass.

Smell: A nicely spicy and funky Belgian style aroma with some fruity hints. Upfront Belgian yeast with hints of farmhouse funk and some clove, pepper, coriander, and ginger spicing. Pale malt with hints of grains, wheat, straw, cracker, and biscuit. Fruit hints of banana, apple, and white grapes along with citrus hints of orange peel, lemon zest, and pineapple. Hints of bubblegum and candied sugar as well. Subtle scent of earthy hops. Pretty good spicy aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a spicy, funky, and zesty Belgian style taste with some nice citrus notes. Belgian yeast upfront with some farmhouse funk. Spice notes of peppers, clove, coriander, and ginger. Bready pale malt with notes of grains, straw, wheat, cracker, and biscuit. Fruity taste of banana, apple, and white grapes. Citrus fruit notes of orange peel, pineapple, and lemon zest. Candied sugar notes as well as a little bubblegum. Subtle presence of hops. A pretty nice zesty taste.

Mouthfeel: Body is on the lighter side of medium. Carbonation is fairly high. Spicy, juicy, and fairly drying on the finish.

Overall: A pretty nice take on the style. Good taste of spice and citrus. A lighter version of a Saison but good tasting.

12oz bottle

A- Poured into a tulip glass. Pours a clear golden orangish color with an off-white head with good retention and lacing.

S- The aroma is citrus, apples, and spices with fruity esters and an almost chardonnay-like character in the nose as well.

T- The taste features malt and a moderate sweetness up front with the spices coming in the dry finish.

M- The mouthfeel is light bodied and heavily carbonated.

O- Overall, I would say this is a pretty average saison. It is not out of this world but not terrible either.

12 oz. bottle poured into a snifter.

The color is a cloudy pale straw, almost like a lemonade, and it has a two finger head that dissipates quickly. The nose is big on yeast spices and also has straw, biscuit malts, wine-like smells, and a mildly sweet fruit smell like a banana. At the front of the tongue I get a bit of lemon, clove, and coriander that immediately fades, leaving a big bready assault on the palate. There's also an herbal earthiness to the beer. The body is light and watery, with a prickly mouthfeel from excessive carbonation. It's highly drinkable but not very flavorful, nor memorable.

Appearance- Pours up a good amount of head which appears to have little retention. The head is a pure cotton white while the body is a golden straw/lemon which looks pale straw in the light. Some lacing has been left behind.

Nose- Not terribly complex but a pretty typical saison aroma. Apple, lemon, and banana. Some coriander, some clove. Very clean and crisp and very much dominated by the citrus notes. Some pineapple. Portends a basic but competent saison.

Taste- Starts off with strong notes of lemon and lemon peel which quickly moves into a blend of cloves, banana, coriander, and Belgian yeast. Some pepper around the edges. Tastes rather short as in all the flavors come at you all at once and then quickly fade. Pepper and lemon are the only things that seem to linger and they are rather thin. Some hint of bandaid. Balance and integration are okay but the complexity is a little lacking. Pretty much what I expected from the aroma- basic but competent. Above average beer, but fairly generic saison.

Mouthfeel- Light to medium bodied with a little bit of juice and syrup to the texture. A little heavier than most saisons and a bit overcarbonated.

Drinkability- Pretty accessible but kind of boring. Okay price but I will be skipping this in the future. Stillwater makes some very good saisons for about the same price.

Overall- Above average. Boring but authentic saison. Worth a try as it is effective attempt in a great style. The problem is there are a lot of good to great saisons out there. This is sufficient.

Appearance: Pours a hazy goldenstraw with a two fingered head that leaves some streaky lace behind

Smell: Bready, with hints of spice (ginger and grains of paradise, obvioulsy) but also clove and coriander

Taste: Opens bready, with the spices from the aroma making their presence known; citrusy and grassy hops adding bitterness in the middle; the spices linger well into the finish, which is also earthy and lemony

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate to high carbonation

Overall: A very competent saison but just doesn't hit the ball out of the park

On tap at Gainesville HOB. Pours a slightly hazy yellow with small fluffy head. Aroma of straw, citrus, banana, ginger. Flavor is very refreshing banana straw citrus. Lingering bite on the palate. Light bodied and perfect for a sunny 93 degree day. High carbonation. A nice summer beer and loads of flavor for the ABV.

On draft at Tap and Barrel, Smithtown, NY.

Poured a light copper hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured light esters and a grassy hop.

The taste was lightly grainy with biting esters and a grassy hop.

The mouthfeel was toward the lighter side of the style with a vigorous carbonation.

Overall a serviceable saison.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with a bottling date of 08/14/13. Sampled on September 26, 2013.

The pour is pale yellow with a white short-lived head and a definite haze. Acceptable lacing.

The aroma is a little musty but still emboldened with the yeasty, biscuity, and spicy esters one comes to expect from a Belgian style farmhouse. Some pepper perhaps. Mild hop note.

The body is thinner than I might have expected.

The taste has a pale malt character with some pepper, coriander, and a moderately sour finish that tends to linger.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 3/4/2013. Pours lightly cloudy golden straw color with a 2-3 finger foamy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, orange peel, coriander, ginger, clove, pepper, cracker, wheat, grass, floral, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good complexity and balance of spice and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, orange peel, coriander, clove, pepper, wheat, cracker, grass, floral, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of citrus, light fruits, coriander, clove, pepper, wheat, cracker, grass, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice balance and complexity of yeast and spice flavors; with light malt presence and no cloying flavors after the finish. High carbonation and light bodied; with a very crisp, smooth, and prickly mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected for being under 5%. Overall this is a nice session saison style. Good balance and complexity of yeast and spice flavors; and extremely smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Pours hazy yellow with a good head that does not last. The skim creates some sticky lace.

Some nice yeasty funk in the nose, some spice and grain, a touch of fruit.

Nice yeast and grain husk up front, some spice notes and a mild tart bite. The beer turns moderately bitter, with a dry grassiness that works well with the malt. Bitter and yeasty in the finish.

Lighter bodied with a good carbonated fizz.

Decent brew here. Needs some more complexity, but solid in all ways overall.

Server in a taster glass at the brewery.

Smells spicy, herbal. Saison yeast for sure. Unsurprisingly, it tastes like a saison too! Very typical. Lightly tart. Vaguely fruity (peaches? Very light). Mouthfeel is light and dry. I like it.

Recommended for people who like saisons.

Pours a lightly hazy yellow color with a white head. In the aroma, lightly dry to earthy tartness. In the taste, dry earthiness all the way through. A small bite, but mainly smooth with a medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a dry earthiness to clean aftertaste. Light, lacking flavor and aroma, kind of one dimensional.
