Poured into a Dogfish signature snifter. No freshness date.
A- Pours a partially hazy dark gold color with a 3/4 inch off-white head that putters away pretty quickly to a thin ring around the edge of the glass and light surface foam. Average lacing.
S- Smells more like a witbier than a saison with more rich, full banana tones from the yeast. There's a trace of that sharp saison aroma on the back end but the bulk of the nose is spice-driven.
T- Same goes for the flavor. Fruity esters from the yeast, spice and wheat. With no ABV printed on the bottle and also none in the BA description, I'd guesstimate it's around 5% since there's barely any alcohol twang. Yep, tastes like your standard witbier.
M- Some prickle from the spice and a dryness from the yeast. Medium-low carbonation leaves a little to be desired especially since the body's on the lighter side.
O- Although very enjoyable, it's not a true Saison IMO. I'm missing a lot of the tang and funk I'm used to experiencing with the style. Would have given a higher score if it was more honest, style-wise. Pretty disappointing since Green Flash usually excels at Belgians.

On tap at Gainesville HOB. Pours a slightly hazy yellow with small fluffy head. Aroma of straw, citrus, banana, ginger. Flavor is very refreshing banana straw citrus. Lingering bite on the palate. Light bodied and perfect for a sunny 93 degree day. High carbonation. A nice summer beer and loads of flavor for the ABV.

Pours hazy yellow with a good head that does not last. The skim creates some sticky lace.
Some nice yeasty funk in the nose, some spice and grain, a touch of fruit.
Nice yeast and grain husk up front, some spice notes and a mild tart bite. The beer turns moderately bitter, with a dry grassiness that works well with the malt. Bitter and yeasty in the finish.
Lighter bodied with a good carbonated fizz.
Decent brew here. Needs some more complexity, but solid in all ways overall.

A very solid Saison!!!! I was expecting a light, lemon zest heavy, simple beer....maybe with hops because if its West Coast roots. This is a real Saison, maybe not the worlds best, but having all the elements of a good Saison.
Pours a straw gold color with a good sized delicate white head. Head retention is a bit weak and there is minimum lacing. Aroma is good, some lemon zest and a good funky/yeasty presence.
Good solid Saison taste. Spices, musty yeast/funk and lemon zest. Very nicely done!!!
Mouthfeel is rich, spicing and funk are just right.
If I am in the mood for a Saison, this one will do nicely.

Clear golden straw with a frothy white head that lingers. Effervescent bubbles surface constantly.
Confectioners sugar sweetness, wet hay, white pepper, and what form the initial aroma, with hints of pear adding complexity.
Fairly dry throughout, with pear and apple esters at the base, on a bed of grainy malt. The finish is peppery and a touch bready. Lacks a bit in substance. Minerally qualities surface late.
Body is fairly light, with high carbonation and a slightly tannic finish.
A bit weak in character. Has the dryness and spiciness of a saison, but it's missing the intangibles.

Green Flash Saison Diego has a medium, off-white head, lots of streaming bubbles, and a relatively clear, light golden appearance, with powdery white specks suspended throughout. Lacing is minimal. The aroma is of light beer with added citrus and spices. Taste is of peppery, spicy, white bread, with citrus and mild back bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Green Flash Saison Diego finishes mostly dry, sweet, and drinkable. Overall, this is a good beer in the style, although one can find comparable ones for a lower price. It's worth checking out.

12oz bottle poured into a GF 16oz Belgian Tulip
A - Pale yellow and very clear. Three finger rocky white head, that leaves a wall of lacing.
S - Subdued, hay and light spice, very little to no fruity esters.
T - Light pepper with a back-background of grassy hoppy. Very slight malt sweetness. No alcohol present.
M - One of the lightest ever, huge level of carbonation. Dissipating finish
O - Kind of like a Saison Junior, it hits all the notes it's supposed to, but they're pop flys to the infield.
