A- Pours black as night with a nice, frothy tan head.
S- Definitely a bit of roasted malt, but the citrus and yeasty notes typical of a saison really dominate the nose.
T- Very interesting. Quite bitter actually from the malt. Suggestions of bitter chocolate or coffee. A little bit of hop bitterness as well. Rounds out with some mild sweetness on the back end.
M- Medium to heavy bodied. Hardly any carbonation after it was poured.
O- Not bad. Very different and frankly a little over hyped. I was expecting great and got good. Would I drink it again? Probably if its aged a little longer to mellow out some of this bitterness.
Serving type- 12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Thanks for reading.

A thick, fat tan head rests on top of a heavy black brew. It's between a finger and a half and two fingers high and sturdy. It leaves strong, creamy lacing in some pretty heavy patching.
This beer is one of the more interesting ones I've ever smelled or tasted. It's got an extremely distinct note of mint basil with piney hops and a touch of herb. The malt shows a touch of roast underneath. The basil being part of it, there's a hint of something like kitchen spicing mingling with a certain earthy nature as well.
Friendship has a medium body, and it's creamy with a crisp nip. It fills the mouth a bit, with an even creamier feel developing with the strong carbonation, which also makes it crisper even as it flows very cleanly and softly.

From the 650 ml. bottle. Sampled on January 25, 2014
It has a gorgeous dark brown pour with hints of red up to the light and a humongous lingering fluffy, tan head.
This is an aroma like nothing else. Spices explode on my nose including clove, ginger, nutmeg, coriander, juniper, allspice, and peppers. There is also a vibrant dark fruit character.
The flavor is more toned down than the nose but those unique spices do break out on my palate along with something like turmeric. Mildly bitter at the en but the spices hold vigil over everything else.
Only Okay by previous raters? I feel it is better than OK.

Tap: Poured a deep black color ale with a small brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light roasted malt with some rustic malt notes. Taste is also dominated by rustic malt with light roasted malt notes and some light funky notes. Body is about average with medium carbonation. Interesting experiment but not necessarily something I would seek on a regular basis.

A: Huge thick tan head. Hold well and leaves alot of lacing down the side. Almost black in color. Unfortunately this is the best part about the beer.
S: Lots of yeast. Slight funk.
T: Typical saison with a bit of currant, which is slightly strange. Large head at times give a bit of an off putting taste to sips.
F: Highly carbonated and a thin bodied.
O: Disappointing considering what these two breweries typically produce. OK, but far from special.
