Nice orange-golden color with a slight white foam head. A very pleasant grapefruit aroma, not overwhelming for a triple. Flavor is some grapefruit and a touch of onion on the finish, pine and woody come through as well. A bitter, earthy finish. Extremely drinkable for s triple IPA, nice one.

Looks typical for an IPA, slightly hazy orange with a decent beige head and gentle lacing.

Smell is faint but what's there is of grapefruit, which speaking of,

Taste is a big grapefruit wallop with a touch of onion. Big taste here, no doubts.

Nice little surprise from Green Flash. Pretty sure I'll get more!

Always been a huge green flash fan. Unfortunately this is not one of my favorite beers by them. This beer looks like it would be fantastic, coppery tan with a nice head and lacing. The feel is fantastic as well. It drinks good, and is a bit chewy. Unfortunately this is one of those IPA's that is extremely oniony to me. Which is a characteristic I do not prefer. If it wasn't for this single aspect I would have rated this beer higher.

Poured from a bottle into a snifter.

L: Pours a deep amber color, mostly clear with tall off-white head. Lovely lacing.

S: Citrus fruits and hops. Mango and oranges... a bit floral.

T/F: Nice malt backbone followed by a big hop spanking. Great citrus notes and mango... grapefruit and evergreen trees. Good carbonation and a bit zesty. Warming from the high ABV and quite tasty.

O: Delicious triple IPA from Green Flash.... which is still an under-appreciated brewer here on the East coast. Loved it and can't wait for my next.

Pours a light Amber color. Has a deep pine and resin aroma. Flavor is really piny and resin with some citrus peel notes as well. Leaves a heavy pine aftertaste. A little bitterness at the finish. Very nice overall

Quite light color--golden but quite clear.

Aroma of pungent earthy (decaying) citrus. This seems weird but it's my attempt at describing what some describe as cat pee. It smells amazing nonetheless.

Flavor is slightly sweet malts with a smash of hops. Minimal bitterness compared to GF's West Coast IPA.

Bottle poured into a Green Flash Brewing Co pint glass

A: Pours golden orange amber with a frothy light beige head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.

S: Citrus and pine, sweet tropical fruit and caramel malt, a bit herbal, and a little spice.

T: Resinous pine, citrus, grapefruit pith, lemon, lime, a bit spicy, tropical fruit, pineapple, mango, maybe papaya, a little herbal, and some caramel malt sweetness. A little alcohol can come out as it warms.

M: A bit towards the fuller end of medium body, moderate carbonation.

O: This triple IPA brings the goods with the hops. It'll kick you in the tongue, but won't necessarily blow you away.

Green Flash Brewing Company, San Diego, California.
Green Flash Green Bullet Triple India Pale Ale, New Zealand Dry Hop, Alc. by Vol. 10.1%. Besides all the legal mumbo-jumbo, refreshingly free of gobbledygook.

Hazy amber, slim white head.

Aroma: Fresh and vibrant hop nose, clean citrus and tropical fruit notes. Spins out wildly hoppy and delightful.

Taste: Intensely and refreshingly bitter hop bite right at the top. Medium-bodied, moderate malt base, leaving plenty of space on the stage for hops to shine. Citrus notes are increasingly bitter, bright, clean and tasty. Pungent is another word to use on this one, extra-zesty is another, and strong is useful, as well.

There's a very unique flavor in this Green Bullet, and I've used all the descriptors I have on hand. This something I can't pin down about it. I said "clear" and I want to add "crystal"…what else works? Some of the words I want to bring up might not make sense…"scintillating?" Does that work? "Sizzling?" What is it that is so unique to this hop and this big bomb of a triple IPA, such as it is?

I may not know what it is, but I know that it works.

L- Vivid filtered copper body, frothy white head with large bubbles, mild retention.
S- Citrus and hops. Grapefruit, orange rind, lime, hops.
T- Hops, grapefruit, citrus, bready malts, booze.
F- Medium, warm. Leaves a resinous bitter aftertaste.
O- Nice, very well balanced hops and malts. Hops sting the tongue but are not overly bitter. Feels warm because of the booze.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear bright golden orange, head fades quickly. Sweet bready aroma. Taste follows with mostly light bready cracker sweetness up front with strong bitter grassy floral hops. Very bitter ending and super dry. Boozy in the finish. Extreme flavors in this one, sweetness and a powerful hop punch.

Poured into a Cuvee tulip; best by date on bottle of 02/05/16.
Poured a deep golden orange hue with a finger and 1/2 worth of head, full of tiny bubbles. Tons of lacing.
Getting more malt than hops in the aroma, slightly hay like smell. Not getting much else, not sure why...?
Grassy hops up front and through to a bitter finish with a strong alcohol presence at the end.
Lingering bitterness with a nice dry malty sweetness that evens it out. Alcohol is hidden well enough.
Overall, a decent beer that didn't quite live up to my expectations; not to say it's 's a bad beer, because it's not. I was just expecting something else and got a grassy hop bomb. Plenty of alcohol in this bottle to warm you up. Quite a bit of biscuit like malt on the end. Was definitely worth the try though.

Appearance – This is a thick, cloudy orange in color with a gorgeous white head. It is very thick.

Smell – The aromatics aren’t huge here and the malt is lazy. It has a nice aroma but muted for a beer that bore a sense of sensationalism in its name.

Taste – The self-made Triple IPA moniker is proved out at the taste. This is a monster on the tongue. You get that classic mix of huge resin and coy but persistent sweetness at the finish.

Mouthfeel – Though not full-bodied this will leave your mouth bone dry. I truly enjoyed the drying here as this has got to be pushing 100 IBUs.

Drinkability – I don’t know that I’d call it a unique style. This is just a really stiff and sophisticated DIPA. I really enjoyed it though and that 10% is completely unnoticeable until you try standing up.

12 oz. bottle into a New Belgium snifter. Pours a deep golden and settles a beautiful copper color in the glass. 1.5 fingers of creamy, eggshell-white foam. Pleasant aroma of sweet malt, tropical fruit, citrus, and a little booze. Plenty of hops on the nose as well. Medium weight with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Very dank on the taste. Lots of citrus and some onion. Loads of tropical fruit shine through - grapefruit, mango, banana. Good hoppy bitterness on the back end and finishes with a touch of alcohol, albeit still pretty smooth. Resinous hops and pine on the aftertaste with a touch of sweet fruit.

Overall, pretty good. I wasn't really expecting to like this one, but it surprised me. Very well balanced, and considering the abv, the alcohol is hidden pretty well. I'm not a fan of 'oniony' IPAs, though. Otherwise would've rated this a little higher

A-a golden orange color with two fingers worth of white creamy head that sticks to the glass

S-pale malt, tropical fruits, and citrus hops

T-taste is really nice. Pale malty backbone with more tropical fruits than the smell suggests, citrus, and a bitter resin finish

M-medium body, crisp, moderate carbonation

Overall really nice flavors, super drinkable even with the high ABV, will definitely drink again

APPEARANCE - Light, hazy, foamy, amber, 1FH that dissipates.

AROMA/SCENT - Hops, malts, yeast, fruit, sweet.

TASTE - Hops, slightly bitter, pine.

MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - Dry, clean, light, refreshing.

VALUE - $4.75 for a 12-oz bottle. Cheap.

OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - A bit mild for me.

September 27th, 2013 - Resinous. Powerfully resinous. Green Flash's Green Bullet is is pushing the envelope on the San Diego hop trend, adding in all the power, flavor, and booze of an Imperial IPA. It's strong, but single-minded. Resinous, hoppy, weedy and pungent. Like that stuff? This thing's a treasure. Find it exhausting? Take a sampler and then move on. And save this for last, too. It'll paint your tongue and dry before a day of tasting is done.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle.

A: Pours a cloudy golden honey color with a thick white head. Head lingers a bit and leaves some nice lacing.

S: Citrus, pine, biscuit, orange peel, red licorice, molasses, and some floral hops. Quite complex and inviting.

T: Citrus, orange peel, pineapple, grapefruit, nectarine, red licorice, biscuit, honey, and bitter pine hop finish.

M: Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, crisp and bitter yet oily on the finish.

O: There is a lot going on in this beer which is exactly what you would want and expect from a Triple IPA. I would recommend this brew to those of you seeking something more out of your IPA's.

Amber in color with a latent, frothy bone-white head. Aroma is slightly sweet with notes of biscuit and a bit of an acidic twinge. Body is creamy and malty up front but transitions to a prickly, somewhat spicy and almost herbal finish. A bit boozy with maybe hints of tropical fruit. A nice change of pace as it has a bit different flavor profile compared to many imperial/DIPAs but probably not a go-to.

Just drank this one back to back with Revolution 1znuff. The aroma on this isn't anything to write home about...bready malt, molasses, and rust (?). Medium/medium light mothfeel with no alcohol burn and good head and lacing. Taste is quite malty, pineapple and nectarines with grapefruit peel and honey. Finish is light with a good bitters/clove finish. Overall, the best beer I've had from Green Flash. I Would buy it again and share with friends. This beer does need something extra to make it special. Kafir lime or Mosaic to give it a little more nose appeal would make it would class.

L: Pours brilliant amber with a light copper tint under a 2” white foam collar that slowly dissipates to a clingy film.
S: Perfumy nose with fruit, citrusy, grain and some grass and hints of wine.
T: Big clean malt flavors, light fruit, a hint of wine, and alcohol are subservient to perfumy, spicy herbal hop flavors.
F: Just a shade above medium body, carbonation is medium to medium low, the alcohol is warming but you only notice it later.
O: Big hops and balanced by just enough malt and alcohol.

Pours a hazy deep amber with a light head. The smell of dried fruit soaked in brandy. The hops are up front and lack some balance with the alcohol and malt. Worth a try but not my first choice.

Served from tap in a cervoise at Duke's.

The end of my drinking day. This stuff pours a mostly clear amber topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises sweetbread, mild booze, sweet resin, candied grapefruit zest, and a twinge of red apple. The taste brings in more of the same, the sweet malts and fruity hops really making for a treacle-y sweet flavor profile for most of the time spent on my tongue. Near the end, some dank grass shows up to provide a bitter bite for us. The body is a lean medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Overall, this is too big and sweet for its own good. It's not a bad beer by any stretch, but it was a bit of a chore to work through.

A 12oz bottle with a BB of Feb 2015, so it's slightly out of date. Purchased recently from Trembling Madness in York. The label describes it as a Triple IPA with more than 100 IBUs. Hopped with NZ varieties Pacific Gem and Green Bullet.

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip. A bright orange-amber hue with faint haze and medium carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.

S: Aroma of insanely spicy hops with hints of dank weed, pine resin, grass/hay, subtle herbs, leafiness, a twinge of orange peel, caramel malt, mild earthy yeast and stewed hops. Incredibly hoppy and quite complex. Good stuff.

T: Tastes of intense aromatic hops with an overwhelmingly bitter finish. Notes of dank weed, pine resin, orange peel, leafy herbs, grass/hay, caramel malt, earthy yeast and stewed hops. For a brew packing 10% the booze is well hidden. Slightly sweet, followed by a palate-stripping bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with prickly carbonation and a nice thick body. The hop oils stimulate the tongue and destroy the palate. Seriously astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, weed/pine, spice and caramel malt.

O: Boom! This is unbelievably hoppy - a true palate wrecker. Looks good, while the aroma and flavour are stuffed to the gills with notes of pine, weed and grass. Underpinned by subtle caramel malt. Nice body. An intense experience; only hop-heads need apply. If IBUs are your thing then seek this out.
