eyes...
best by 5.5.14 (really? I doubt it)
3 full fingers of the white foam, a veritable maelstrom of bubbles cavorting like some tornado of carbonation, slightly burnt orange and clean hue, super nice lacing (the head really sticks together and rolls like a tide in the glass), good looking brew

nose...
muted herbal hops with some pine twinge, plenty of malt aroma mixed with a splash of orange... overall pretty simple and seemingly less than what I would expect from a triple IPA... but generally some new zeal hops do have that mango-ish tinge rather than the alpha hop burst of the turbo driven american alpha monster hops.. I prefer to buy american

taste etc...
nice silky feel immediately, the IBUs here can not be too high, this is lacking a major punch, triple means three times... I would hate to see what this is multiplied by to get to three... I had some of their other beers and I know they were hoppier than this, the alcohol is well hidden behind the malts which shows the brewer's deft use there (as 10% is not that easy to hide), further on the glass now the hops have become a little more forward but still not blowing me away.. they are sort of lingering in the back and lend an OK bitterness hanging out in the back side quadrants of my tongue

verdict?
good use of malts to back up the high ABV, but the hops are way too subtle for me, I want my hops to kick me in the teeth. this is not a bad beer but a tripel IPA should bring a bit more IMO... maybe I am a hop snob, damn straight

This is close to a perfect beer for a hop-head like me. The tropical mango and pine sit on the palate ever so gently, building to a hot, hoppy finish. The '100+' IBU is much deserved on the finish, as this beer is generally only recommended for those like IPAs and then some. If I could have this beer every day, I would, I not for the 10.1% ABV. I would recommend many beers from Green Flash Brewing (more ratings pending.)

Appearance - Pours 2 quick fingers of lite yellow eggshell foam, body is a gorgeous translucent orange amber, leaves a nice lace ring after each quaff.

Smell - Really nice subtly sweet tropical, sweet ruby red grapefruit, touches of pineapple and citrus, sweet melon and papaya, and some nice floral hops.

Taste - Much like the nose, there is a nice tropical complexity here that actually leans hard towards melon flavors of honeydew and cantaloupe, right behind this are some strong floral hop flavors that really compliment the melon, and at that same moment I absolutely get a peppery kick (mentioned by another reviewer) along with a fairly assertive hop bitterness that is very much like peach pits. No flavors of alcohol here whatsoever, there is a latent heat that accompanies the potent hop-resin finish.

Mouthfeel - Just over medium as there is a little bit of weight here, and the flavors are perfectly assertive and bold, Carb is on the lower side and extremely smooth, almost slick, with just a few bright edges at the back of the tongue. Dangerously drinkable for a bigger beer like this.

Overall - Really an excellent DIPA (okay, it's labeled a "triple ipa") that has a assertive flavors with nice complexity and balance. Really nice transition from tropical sweetness to floral to a nice resiny pucker, just begging the next quaff. A must try imho.

Pours a golden color, filtered. Nice head and lacing. Aroma is a funky, piney. Ok, enough of the bullshit.... This is a big, huge IPA. It's the Camaro ZL1 of beers.

Taste is pure hop deliciousness. The hop resins begin to burn the inside of your mouth almost immediately. Spicy is an understatement. Hop goodness per ounce is almost unbeatable with this one.

Keep in mind, this is a huge beer. If you are expecting an IPA, like Ranger or Rebel, you will be shocked. This is for the big boys. If you think Dogfish 90 is too big, don't buy this. But, if you think... has anyone actually OD'ed on IBUs, because I'm getting concerned... then this beer is for you.

For me, I love it.

Poured into a goblet slightly hazed menacing looking burnt orange,it just looked like one of them big ballsy brash hop bombs.Aromas of pithy grapefruit and leafy/floral hops with a sweet caramel and alcohol base.I found the flavors to be not as sweet and boozy as I thought they would be but the hops are big and brash with citric and leafy flavors coming in waves over the carame/biscuit base, the alcohol is there but it didn't hit me over the head.A really nice big hopped "triple" IPA as GF calls it,I liked it alot.

A: An amber beer with good clarity that produces a good head stand when poured. The persistent head is is made of off-white bubbles of compact foam that leave some fine lacing on the glass.

S: A medium-strong hops aroma that is very herbal and tropical fruit with some citrus. Mostly a pineapple and mango sort of hops. There is a light malt sweetness and a hint of alcohol sweetness.

T: An aggressive yet smooth hops bitterness with a strong tropical fruit and citrus hops flavor over a medium malt sweetness. The malt has a slight caramel character and a touch of biscuit. The hops have a strong pineapple and mango flavor. There is a light touch of spice that seems slightly hops and yeast derived at the same time. A long, citrusy bitter aftertaste that remains smooth. The high abv becomes apparent towards the medium-dry finish with a little warmth and some sweetness.

M: A medium-full bodied beer with a medium-strong level of carbonation. A moderate alcohol warmth.

O: An impressive beer that shows off the tropical fruit character of the New Zealand hops and despite being ridiculously bitter is very smooth.

Damn
Finally found this in the Bay Area and I must say, while it's good, it's not great.
Not sure when it was bottled but best by date is early year.
Looks great! Perfect golden hue and thick foamy head...but not much else.
Not the flavor profile I was hoping for.
Aroma not what I was hoping for.
Mouthfeel is meh...good but not great.
All in all, it's good, but PLEASE give me Palete Wrecker stat!!!!

Bomber into 8 oz Tulip
A- Looks like a high ABV IPA Gold with disappearing white head
S- The hops and alcohol do battle with each other, to the drinkers benefit. Hops...then booze. Smells delicious. Sweet syrupy malty backbone
T- A very well balanced big IPA is the first thing that comes to my mind. The hops are still the star, but supported by the malty sweetness.
M- Practically perfect size/carb level. Lets you thoroughly taste the beer but doesn't let it stick to your palate
O- This is a great beer.I too often find big IPAs much too syrupy and sweet. That is not the case with this one. I really enjoy it, will suggest it to friends and will most definitely buy it again...like tomorrow

In a tulip this beer was a hazy orange color. There was a small white head that left a bit of lace.

Citrus and pine aroma, some sweet malt. Not as aromatic as I expected.

Grapefruit and pine in the taste. Caramel. Again, not quite as flavorful as I expected.

Hoppy and sweet.

Nice enough beer, but there are better ones out there.
