A: Slightly hazy orange-yellow in color. Forms a moderate sized white head. Decent retention. Moderate lacing.
S: Aroma is surprisingly mild, but pleasant none-the-less. Floral notes mix with light citrus notes and a sugar-cookie background.
T: Taste is also surprisingly mild. Light pale malt backbone. Citrus, grapefruit, and citrus pith. Mild pine resin quality. Maybe some faint notes of tropical fruit. Finish is rather quick.
M: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Rather restrained bitterness. Alcoholic heat on the finish.
O: While I am an admitted hop-head and DIPA lover, I've never been much of a fan of the so-called Triple IPA category, though it is more so because the term simply doesn't mean anything than because I don't like over-hopped, highly alcoholic beers. Now, with that said, this beer is clearly nothing more than a DIPA, and a restrained one at that. The flavors are clean and pleasant, but aside from the alcohol, this beer really isn't packing much of a punch.

A: Pours a clear gold with a thin, creamy white head that quickly settles into a thin lacing around the sides of the glass.
S: Aromas of caramel, crackers, and biscuits are joined by strong scents grass, herbs, lemon, and lime.
T: Delicate notes of caramel, crackers, and biscuits are soon overpowered by flavors of grass, lemon, lime, bitter orange, guava, unripened pineapple, passion fruit, peppermint, white pepper, sage, and white onion. The finish is resinous and bitter with grass, lemon, lime, onion, pepper, and herb flavors underscored by delicate caramel and biscuit malt notes and mellow alcohol.
M: Full-bodied and resinous. Carbonation is firm, yet unobtrusive. Alcohol is somewhat noticeable, especially on the fade, though it is not a distraction.
O: A really solid ale. I have been intrigued by the possibilities of such varietals as Pacific Gem and Green Bullet for some time and I think this ale gives me a good idea of what they can bring to the table. I would recommend this DIPA to both fans of the style and individuals intrigued by unique combinations of hops alike.
