Generally: Green Flash has excellent packaging, and frankly that's part of our enjoyment of the things we drink, so kudos. I like looking at you GF! Also, I've been excited to taste this one, and we just a few cases in today. So, let's do it.
The Pour: Nothing special here. It's your standard amber-gold IPA in appearance, with a very minimal head. Almost no lacing on that itty bitty head.
Face in the glass: This is wicked cool: petrol/tar and toasted almonds, with a faint vegetal background--it's almost like fresh cut peppers; there's a burnt sugar/citric hop note in the background.
With Regard to Taste: Burnt marshmallows... Lagunitas IPA has a similar burnt sugar profile, which I don't actually like that much in that beer. Here, however, it's something to celebrate. Excellent, caramel malt holding the hop party in check, and there is a memorable, bone-dry, citric/pine finish that stays for the last act. I'm not quite sure, but the New Zealand hops seem to be responsible for the ballyhoo in my glass. As it warms, those vegetal aromas are coming to the palate. Very interesting for a huge beer, for a style that inherently lacks nuance.
Abstract: Eminently drinkable, though I'd recommend one at a time. At 10.1% ABV, you'll know if one has been put in you, by yourself or someone else.
Epitoma: It is a Triple IPA. Not for the meek. Two of these would kill a Bud Light drinker... I suspect that would be a good thing. Yeah, that would be great.
Note: First of all, I want to tell y'all that this beer is best fresh (at about 57degrees) and that there's a bunch of it out there (in Boston) that is from last year; it makes a difference.... I'm not sure what food item could possibly survive this beast in terms of pairing (rotting fish?), but I definitely recommend you eat before you drink one. DANG! Out.

Good DIPA. Pours a hazy orange with a good size off white head into a pint glass. Head retention is good and there is plenty of thick lacing on the glass.
Aroma is ok, some citrus hops but not that pronounced in such a strong beer.
Taste is pretty good. Plenty of citrus hops with a little pine resin in the finish. There is some maltiness as a balance but this is a hop forward beer.
Mouthfeel is not all that rich for a high octane beer. It is crisp, the bitterness is good and the alcohol is not apparent.
Good strong DIPA. There are better ones out there but this is pretty good.
