L: Crystal-clear amber/gold with a nice, foamy white head and excellent lacing.
A: Big, sticky pine resin, with some funky fruitiness, green apple jolly rancher, and mango. Malt is there as well, with some bready sweetness that accentuates the fruity/candy hops. Very unique.
T/M: Big bitterness upfront, moves into a full body and a huge amount of pine resin and puckering citrus hops, as well as a noticeable mango/candy character. The malt is very noticeable for a west-coast IPA, but not overly sweet, it adds a nice support for the aggresive hop character. The finish is dry and with some big hops and spicy alcohol.
Overall, this is one of the most unique IPAs I have ever had, and it is very tasty as well. I think Green Flash nailed it, I challenge you to find an Imperial IPA that has a hop profile like this one.
