A - Pours a semi-hazy amber/straw color with a 3 finger bright white head sitting atop. Recedes to a cap that leaves foamy patches of lace.
S - Resinous pine mixes with sweet fruit on the nose... Peach, orange, grapefruit rind. A faint bready malt base. Not the most pungent aroma, but a nice one.
T - Some sweet fruit, mostly orange and peach, and bready malts hit the palette first, but this beer takes some interesting turns. Middle of the mouth, herbal, earthy hops intertwine with slight citrus and a kind of white grape note that reminds me of Nelson (I'm assuming it's in here, as it is "New Zealand dry hopped"). The finish gives a nice kick of grapefruit bitterness mixed with a little pineapple juiciness, and moderate astringent alcohol. I really like the interplay of flavors here.
M - Sticky and medium-full bodied, with some moderate warming alcohol. Lingering bitterness and some pineapple sweetness.
O - This beer has been getting a lot of mixed reviews, but I concur with it's current rating of "very good". While the hop varietals used aren't my favorite, this is a damn tasty beer (way better than Palette Wrecker IMHO) with a surprising amount of depth.
