Draft at The Blue Monkey in Merchantville, NJ.
Pours a cloudy, deep golden orange color with dark golden yellow edges and a one finger, frothy white head that very slowly settles into a lasting ring. Very good retention with streaks of lacing left behind.
Very dank and floral hop aroma with some grassy, earthy pine and a nice tropical/citrus fruit presence countered by a sweet malt backbone. Resinous oils along with hints of kind bud, fresh cut grass and pine needle followed by grapefruit, mango and orange peel. Some sweet caramel malt along with toffee, biscuit and graham cracker. Malts are subtle however and don't at all interfere with the hop character.
Medium body with a blast of dry hop bitterness that lingers over tropical/citrus fruit and caramel malt sweetness into a bone dry finish. Complex hop profile with dry, earthy bitterness and resinous oil/pine needle flavor followed by juicy tropical and citrus fruit sweetness. Strong grapefruit, pineapple, mango and orange zest character balancing things out with much needed sweetness. Sweet caramel malt backbone with honts of toffee, biscuit, hazelnut and slight dark fruit notes. Some alcohol heat in the finish but overall the high ABV is decently masked. In these high ABV triple IPAs the alcohol/ethanol flavored often kills off the hops but it's nicely integrated into the finish of this beer. Complex, flavorful and decently drinkable for it's strength. A touch too malty for my liking but still a very solid beer.

Passed the best by date, only a few days, so not that fresh.
Pours hazy orange, one finger bubbly white head, gets thinner, really sticky.
Smell of pine, citrus, green grass, some tropical notes with pineapple mostly and faint caramel. Not extremely strong hoppiness, at least not as strong as i expected.
Taste definitely makes up for that. Sweet citrus in the front, with tangerines and sweet grapefruit, followed by nice tropical perffumey mango, pineapple and faint lychee. Pine and green leafiness is next and covers everything up, with a really bitter finish. Hops feel spicy and a tiny bit earthy too. Reading the label ("triple IPA") i expected a more aggressive bitterness, but it didn't really deliver. Sure, it's very bitter, but not necessarily rougher than other American (D)IPAs. Some caramel and toasted malts are hard to find during the taste, but become more apparent in the aftertaste.
Medium carbonation, light and easy to drink. The big abv is extremely well hidden.
I like the fact that, even if it's extremely hop-oriented (duh), there's a flavorful sweet fruity flash at the beginning of every sip, and after the bitter pine festival, in the aftertaste. From start to finish. Didn't live up to its aforementioned level of hops, but it was really good.
