Poured from a 12oz. bottle.

A: Pours a cloudy golden honey color with a thick white head. Head lingers a bit and leaves some nice lacing.

S: Citrus, pine, biscuit, orange peel, red licorice, molasses, and some floral hops. Quite complex and inviting.

T: Citrus, orange peel, pineapple, grapefruit, nectarine, red licorice, biscuit, honey, and bitter pine hop finish.

M: Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, crisp and bitter yet oily on the finish.

O: There is a lot going on in this beer which is exactly what you would want and expect from a Triple IPA. I would recommend this brew to those of you seeking something more out of your IPA's.

Amber in color with a latent, frothy bone-white head. Aroma is slightly sweet with notes of biscuit and a bit of an acidic twinge. Body is creamy and malty up front but transitions to a prickly, somewhat spicy and almost herbal finish. A bit boozy with maybe hints of tropical fruit. A nice change of pace as it has a bit different flavor profile compared to many imperial/DIPAs but probably not a go-to.

Just drank this one back to back with Revolution 1znuff. The aroma on this isn't anything to write home about...bready malt, molasses, and rust (?). Medium/medium light mothfeel with no alcohol burn and good head and lacing. Taste is quite malty, pineapple and nectarines with grapefruit peel and honey. Finish is light with a good bitters/clove finish. Overall, the best beer I've had from Green Flash. I Would buy it again and share with friends. This beer does need something extra to make it special. Kafir lime or Mosaic to give it a little more nose appeal would make it would class.

Good beer, but too much dry hop - honey taste overpowered the beer.

L: Pours brilliant amber with a light copper tint under a 2” white foam collar that slowly dissipates to a clingy film.
S: Perfumy nose with fruit, citrusy, grain and some grass and hints of wine.
T: Big clean malt flavors, light fruit, a hint of wine, and alcohol are subservient to perfumy, spicy herbal hop flavors.
F: Just a shade above medium body, carbonation is medium to medium low, the alcohol is warming but you only notice it later.
O: Big hops and balanced by just enough malt and alcohol.

Pours a hazy deep amber with a light head. The smell of dried fruit soaked in brandy. The hops are up front and lack some balance with the alcohol and malt. Worth a try but not my first choice.

Served from tap in a cervoise at Duke's.

The end of my drinking day. This stuff pours a mostly clear amber topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises sweetbread, mild booze, sweet resin, candied grapefruit zest, and a twinge of red apple. The taste brings in more of the same, the sweet malts and fruity hops really making for a treacle-y sweet flavor profile for most of the time spent on my tongue. Near the end, some dank grass shows up to provide a bitter bite for us. The body is a lean medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Overall, this is too big and sweet for its own good. It's not a bad beer by any stretch, but it was a bit of a chore to work through.

A 12oz bottle with a BB of Feb 2015, so it's slightly out of date. Purchased recently from Trembling Madness in York. The label describes it as a Triple IPA with more than 100 IBUs. Hopped with NZ varieties Pacific Gem and Green Bullet.

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip. A bright orange-amber hue with faint haze and medium carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.

S: Aroma of insanely spicy hops with hints of dank weed, pine resin, grass/hay, subtle herbs, leafiness, a twinge of orange peel, caramel malt, mild earthy yeast and stewed hops. Incredibly hoppy and quite complex. Good stuff.

T: Tastes of intense aromatic hops with an overwhelmingly bitter finish. Notes of dank weed, pine resin, orange peel, leafy herbs, grass/hay, caramel malt, earthy yeast and stewed hops. For a brew packing 10% the booze is well hidden. Slightly sweet, followed by a palate-stripping bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with prickly carbonation and a nice thick body. The hop oils stimulate the tongue and destroy the palate. Seriously astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, weed/pine, spice and caramel malt.

O: Boom! This is unbelievably hoppy - a true palate wrecker. Looks good, while the aroma and flavour are stuffed to the gills with notes of pine, weed and grass. Underpinned by subtle caramel malt. Nice body. An intense experience; only hop-heads need apply. If IBUs are your thing then seek this out.

A: Clear redish orange with a nice white head

S: Citrus hops, floral and piney notes as well.

T: Taste follows the nose - citrus, pine, floral and spicy hops linger, with a subtle banana and clove softness. Lemon and hop dryness on the back end.

M: Silky smooth. More drinkable than you'd think with this ABV.

O: A really solid DIPA from a brewery that specializes in West Coast hopiness! Of the four staple IPA's that Green Flash offers, I found this one to be better than West Coast, but not quite as amazing as Palate Wrecker. Probably pretty even with Hop Head Red for me. Definitely worth trying if you haven't had it.

Not a bad ipa by any means... but considering that it's a "triple ipa" it didn't pack the extreme hoppy/high ibu taste I was expecting. I'd defer to green flash's palate wrecker before this one

A- Medium-light orange-yellow body, half finger white head with fair retention time. Sticks around a bit, leaves a few rings of lacing here and there, and then it's gone.

S- Mild raw onion aromas mixed in with plenty of tropical fruit, grapefruit and even a bit of pineapple. Sweet bready malt rounds it out. Not terrible smelling, although the onions detract a little bit.

F- Grapefruit, pineapple and even a bit of canteloupe. Plenty of bready malt, but nowhere close to the amount of hops in this beer. Sweet but more aromatic and hoppy, as it should be. More than solid hop profile. Not too bitter.

M- Medium bodied, smooth and lower in carbonation. A bit sticky, but not thick or syrupy. Reasonably drinkable for a big IPA like this.

O- Pretty decent stuff, a bit on the weaker end for a triple IPA but that's not a terrible thing as there isn't that much of an alcohol bite to it that are typical of triple IPAs.

12oz chalice at Beer Revolution YEGDT.

This beer appears a clear, bright medium bronzed amber colour, with a thin cap of weakly foamy, and generally bubbly off-white head, which leaves a solid wall of thinly painted lace around the glass as it genially recedes.

It smells of rather sugary caramel malt, watery and biscuity toffee, sharp pine needles, muddled orchard citrus pith, and leafy, earthy, and somewhat perfumed hops. The taste is very nougaty caramel and toffee oriented malt, kind of Mars Bar in nature, a touch of misplaced yeast, and still heady creamy citrus, pine resin, and well-soused floral hops.

The carbonation is quite laid-back in its low-end supportive frothiness, the body a dense medium weight, and generally smooth, a wee soupcon of hop and polite alcohol ingress tainting things ever so slightly. It finishes on the sweet side, natch, the booze-fueled malt kind of winning that tug-of-war with the hefty lingering west coast hops.

A more or less genial double, disguised as a 'triple' IPA. With its well obfuscated 20-ish proof alcohol, I guess one can't really complain all that much, especially given the big hop and malt 'hire me now!' presentation.

On tap at Beer Revolution.
Pours a hazy, golden orange color with a tall head. Foam settled to a small cap, rings of lace lines.
Smell is all hops, citrus and herbal, leafy hop aromas.
Taste is much the same, citrus, herbal, and pine flavors. Lots of hop bitterness, but not as over the top bite as I was expecting. Only the slightest alcohol burn as it warmed.
This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Not oily or sticky like some over hopped beers I have tried.
Overall, this is a pretty good beer. Lots of hops as expected, but still easy to drink.

Appearance: Slightly hazy orange in color with a crusty, sticky head with very nice lacing. Retention is very nice.

Nose: Peach, pineapple, green apple, grape.

Taste: Nectarine, banana, little butterscotch and faint alcohol heat. Some hop hotness.

Notes: They pulled it off. This was very good!

Cool find at Beer Revolution in Calgary, 12 oz. glass on tap. A light golden orange color with a finger of very creamy white head that leaves a sheet of lacing on the glass.

Aroma is sharp, pungent, but not harsh. Fresh fruits (apples, white grapes, peaches, pineapple, grapefruit) but less citrus than expected, menthol, cotton candy. Almost deceptive, hints at the power within but nothing over the top.

Palate is redolent with ripe grapefruit and tangerine, pineapple, white grapes, blackberry, tobacco, bubble gum, green banana like tannins, and nectarine with a subtly sweet butterscotch backbone. Massive alcohol flavor but this does not mask the intricacies of the hops. Impressed by the raw hop potency but nothing coarse or overdone. Refined strength but strength nonetheless. Menthol cough drop note is much stronger in the cleansing, bitter, slightly woody finish than it is up front, where fruits predominate.

Mouthfeel is prickly from the carbonation and hop resins. Slightly chalky. Makes the nose and sinus cavities tingle. This is a beast of a beer and the hop flavors are rather unique at times, going beyond the typical citrus and tropical elements although these are present and accounted for. Obviously some prior hop experience is a must in order to fully appreciate. Its a hot one from hops and booze perspectives. However, I could have enjoyed another, which must be testament to some degree of restraint from the fine folks at Green Flash.

I was very impressed by this one. I got it in a growler to take to a dinner party. It pours a golden color with a thin head. Aroma is citrusy and piny; the hops hit you right away. Wonderfully balanced taste. The strong hops will certainly satisfy the hops head ; a great dry bitter hops finish that leaves you wanting more. Yet, there is a sweet malt backbone that I like to balance out the hops. Great feel. Nice stinging carbonation, medium body and quite drinkable. I had like 3 of them and felt quite all right afterwards;)
