I am drinking this a month after its best by date and it is still very good. Citrus nose scented with grapefruit, a little earthy mustiness, berry and melon. Pours pale gold with a slight haze under a 2” off-white foam cap. While the head descends fairly quickly it is very lacy. On the front of the tongue the beer is all melon, tropical fruit citrus suspended in a very creamy solution that becomes increasingly bitter as it moves to the back. The beer clears and the melon becomes more prominent as the beer warms. The beer has a lot going on for 4.5 abv, is very drinkable and refreshing and has a delightful, creamy texture making it very sessionable. (658 characters)

I am a sucker for a great Citra IPA and Green Flash delivered here. Great Citra flavors and next to no malt character, which is what I look for in a Session. Can't wait for my next one! (185 characters)

Poured into a tumbler pint at TapWerks in Oklahoma City.

Crystal clear gold with a frothy white head and loads of chunky lace. Gorgeous citra nose - lemon-lime, grapefruit, and white grape - with a palate that follows suit, hyperfocused on hop taste over bitterness. Malt bill is light but noticeable, a mildly creamy combo of caramel and white bread. Finishes spicy, crisp.

Love this beer - one of the only session IPAs that comes close to Founders All Day. This is on par, if not surpassing that high watermark. Excellent. (526 characters)

A: Light straw colored, 2 finger head that stayed around for a while. Decent lacing.Slight haze.
S: Pine and citrus galore! As a hop head I was very pleased by the pungent and powerful hop notes this beer gave off.
T:Very mild on the malt but a great balanced hop flavor that was mild to medium in bitterness. Easy drinking and smooth.
M: Nice resin and oil from the hops, good light bodied maltiness that is well executed.
O: I was drinking Ruination earlier in the day and I wanted to dial back on the alcohol without giving up hoppy goodness. This beer did not disappoint! Maybe it was an extra fresh batch but the aroma was as good as Green Flash West Coast IPA, and the low alcohol content was really refreshing. The flavor was great overall and I loved the resinous mouthfeel. If I could get this year round I would love it, this is a beer for drinking or sipping. If you want a great IPA lower in abv and cals, this is a world class winner from GF. (958 characters)

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a mason jar.

Appearance: Pours a bright golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. About one finger of white head that settles into a thin creamy layer.

Smell: A ripe and juicy hop forward aroma with good hints of citrus fruit and pine. Upfront citra hop scent with big hints of grapefruit, mango, orange peel, lemon, pineapple, passion fruit, apricot, and melon. Dank hints of pine resin and some grassy hops. Soft pale malt backing with hints of cracker, grains, and yeast. A very good hoppy aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a juicy and dank hop forward taste with big notes of citrus and pine. Big upfront taste of citra hops with juicy notes of grapefruit, orange peel, mango, pineapple, lemon, apricot, melon, and passion fruit. Spicy notes of pine resin along with some grassy hops. Light backing malt presence with notes of grains, cracker, and yeast. A very good taste.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. Juicy, oily, and pretty smooth with a drying finish.

Overall: A great version of a session West Coast IPA. Big juicy hop flavor with a light smooth body. (1,139 characters)

All I can say is wow. This is definitely one of the best sessionable IPA's I've ever had. On tap at the World of Beers in Midtown Miami. Poured a beautiful light copper color with a nice 1 inch foam head. The aroma was of sweet, citrusy hops. The taste was also of pungent citrusy hops that invaded my palate with authority. Not much bitterness at all. If you like hops, give this a try. It does not disappoint. Cheers! (419 characters)

A: Golden blonde with ok lacing.

S: CITRA. Spicy and citrusy.

T: Lots of hops. Light, floral and citrus. Fresh grass after rain.

M: Light carbonation. Prickly.

O: Excellent session IPA, right up there with Burley Oak's Afternoon Delight. Also, a great single hop IPA. (302 characters)

From growler to pint glass.

Light golden-tan in color, the beer forms big sudsy head resembling a bigger brew. Wafts of citrus and pine are quickly detectable, vintage Green Flash, although the citra hops are distguished. The flavors follow, but the hop-profile is surprisingly bold for the style and pop on the palate. Super-citrusy, with notes of rind and salt coupled with a touch honey-sweet malts. Expectedly light-bodied, the brew is refreshing and drinkable and disappears from the glass before you realized you drank a beer. This should be made more often, a perfect summertime brew for those that want a little more flavor in their sessions. (652 characters)

Lite pale yellow clear body. Poured with a half inch white head. Aroma is huge citra lemon aroma. Lots of citrus fruit flavor. Really good. Not the typical citra hop beer taste. (177 characters)

Appearance- The color is golden with a orange tint. Thin white head produced and minimal lacing as consumed.

Aroma- BIG aroma of pungent mango, citrus, passionfruit, and grapefruit. Slight bready nose in the background but the pungent tropical hops shine through.

Taste- Nose really lets on that this is going to pungent as hell and delicious too. Once again mango, grapefruit, citrus, passionfruit, the list goes on. Bready notes become increasingly noticeable as it warms up and provide a nice balance to bone dry hop flavors in the finish.

Mouthfeel- Clean, crisp, and easy drinking. Most importantly for a session ipa this has enough malt body to make for a well balanced beer.

Overall- This is an incredibly flavorful ipa that could easily fool me into thinking it was 6% not 4.5%. Big pungent tropical hops at first followed by a dry hop finish with a bready malt to round it out. Somewhat reasonably priced at $6 bucks and I really wish this came in 6 packs. This is proof that a session ipa can be as well made as higher abv counterparts. (1,061 characters)

Pours a clear golden color with a tight, white head that leaves chunks of lacing.

Smells of bright citrus and pine hops.

Tastes of the bright hops with a light malt body. Hops lead off with grapefruit, pine, and tropical notes. Moderately bitter. Malts come in next and add a bit of pale malt with bready and some grainy sweetness. Malts are light and this leans towards the hops overall. Finishes fairly clean with a bit of lingering bitterness.

Mouthfeel is light with a crisp amount of carbonation.

Overall, this is a nice session IPA. (547 characters)

A- pours a clear golden yellow color with a fresh white head and very nice lacing clinging to the glass
S-citrus and dank dusty citra hops with lemon grass
T- nice hop bite first with musty earthy lemon lime citra hops ...then sweet malts and bread equalize this very drinkable and tasty brew
M-hops up front with a lingering pine bitterness medium + carbonation
O- a full flavored session ipa/ipl this was IMO one of the best in this style of session ipa/ipl hops were up front and still there on the finish very very good (532 characters)

Looks clean and bright. Clear, light golden. Not a ton of head. Smell is heavy tropical fruits and citrus.
Really nice punchy hop presence, but crazy dry, easy drinking finish, with the slightest of grain sweetness. A favorite in the session IPA category. (256 characters)

Nice color, but this beer is not as good as I would expect, Light in color but nice balance in hop balance. This is a good beer. I have had better but this one of the better ones I have had in the style. Green Flash makes some good beers. (238 characters)

Sampled from a 500ml bottle purchased at Triangle Wine. Best by date is 1/23/15.

A - Golden and quite clear with a moderate white head. A steady rise of bubbles give it a liveliness.

S - Fantastic citrus at first though fades a bit and gets a little grassy.

T - A wonderful citra example with nice hop flavor and a mild bitterness. Some toasted malt comes through.

M - Moderate consistency with an active carbonation though not distracting in any way.

O - A tasty yet refreshing beer. As good a session beer as you'll find. (532 characters)

Poured into a Pint glass showed a nice thick white 2 fingered head sitting atop a clear light Golden brew, aroma is straight up Citra Hops and grapefruit rind. Sipping past the thick head you get the welcomed bitter tang flowing from front to back on the tongue,it stays there just long enough for you to want another sip. The Session style of IPA's is a new beast for me and my concern was taste...or lack there of...but this has everything flavor wise without the ABV that could cut your night short if not careful. The mouthfeel is dead on and satisfying, overall this is a fine brew that I would grab again. (611 characters)

A - Crisp pilsnerish tan color. 1 finger of head and sticky lace left all over the glass. Looks like a tasty IPA for sure

A - Grapefruit, citra hops

T - Huge grapefruit taste, extremely tasty for a light IPA.

M - Medium bodies and well carbonated

O - One of the better session IPA's I have had for sure. Green Flash never disappoints! (344 characters)

On-tap 8/26/13 at Doherty’s East Ave Irish Pub in Pawtucket, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light gold color, with a short white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains piney hops, some citrus and light caramelized malts.

T: The taste starts with a strong burst of hops bitterness. Then some citrus and caramel sweetness comes in. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly hoppy and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down very easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a very solid IPA to drink for a long time. (756 characters)

Mostly clear gold with a pure white head of loose, bubbly foam. Fresh hop pellet aromas bring to mind grapefruit, sweet lemon, a leafy spice, sap, and some biscuit malt to balance. Flavor is orange, grapefruit, and lime backed by some pine resin and floral notes. Less malt than the smell, though there is a slight graininess. Very crisp and drying, lighter in body but with a fluffiness that thickens it up a bit. Very enjoyable. (434 characters)

On tap at BC's Pizza and Beer

A: Pours a light golden yellow (happily not too light) with a nice frothy egg shell white head that laces nicely.

S: Citrus hops with maybe a hint of tropical fruit in there with a nice hit of malt sweetness

T: As expected, nice citrus hop hit with grapefruit dominating, some grassy and lightly floral notes in there as well, with just enough malt backbone. Bitterness on the finish lingers a while, then gently fades

M: Light to medium body, moderate carbonation

O: Very nice session IPA. Unlike some others I've tried this one doesn't go from hop bite to watery nothing all in 1 quick sip. It's got a nice hop bite all the way through. Maybe not my favorite flavor profile, but very drinkable. (733 characters)

Even in light-bodied form, that irresistible taste of "citra" proves to be crisply seductive and reassures why its the best hop variety on the market.

Even lighter than Pale Ale, this lightened IPA pours with the golden-straw appearance that's common with Blonde Ale and Kellerbier. While its hoppy haze is evident, its frothy character builds with a fluffy whiteness that withstands the session and laces calmly.

Bright hop aromas exude with ripe tangerine, busting red grapefruit, pineapple, apricot, and mangoes. Its blend of citrus and tropical fruits extends well beyond the sharp citrus tone of classic IPA, but is rounded, verbose and highly aromatic. With the tinge of malt in the background, it makes the scent seem candied and breaded- if only for a brief second.

Its delicious flavors are highlighted by blood oranges and tangerines. Ripe ruby red grapefruit, mango and Tropical Fruit Punch rich and fructose upstart is supported by light cracker-like breads and a light glaze of honey or soft caramel. Jetting past a quick middle, the light bodied ale finishes with a crisp, clean and refreshing citrus bitterness with a kiss of pine, grass and chive.

Medium-light in body, the ale is at the forefront of the summer trend- to deliver the taste of IPA in a body, strength, and simplicity of ale that's even lighter than classic American Pale Ales. Minty, grainy and crisp in its finish, the ale celebrates more drinkability than it does complexity- though its depth is readily apparent.

And its just the thing to allow a high rate of consumption without the threat of inebriation- this ale has got to be perfect with Indian cuisine or spicy American pizzas! (1,673 characters)

A - Pours with a large head of white foam on top of a clear, golden body. The head sticks around nicely and leaves excellent curtains of sticky lace.

S - A pungent aroma of lychee, white grapes, citrus, and berries.

T - Lightly sweet, slightly grainy malt up front with clean bitterness in the middle. Finishes with a slightly fruity hop profile, supplemented by a bit of grapefruit.

M - A light body, moderate carbonation, and a dry finish.

D - Drinkable and light with an excellent hop aroma, the body and flavor are a bit of letdown by the middle of the glass. This beer avoids the excessive bitterness and astringency that some session IPAs have due to being overly dry, but it would still benefit immensely from a bit more body and a touch of sweetness in the finish. Still the hop aroma is magnificent and goes a long way towards making up for the shortcomings in the flavor. (885 characters)

A: The beer is clear yellow in color with hints of amber hues and no visible carbonation. It poured with a thin off white head that quickly died down, leaving lacing on the surface and a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Strong aromas of citrusy hops are present in the nose - grapefruit seems to stand out in particular.
T: The taste is similar to the smell, but isn't nearly as citrusy. It has a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied and crisp on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is light but is all about the dry hopping. It's a nice IPA if you are loonking for something that is sessionable. (678 characters)
