The Green Flash Brewery was defiantly not what I was expecting. Surrounded by huge business buildings and corporate parks the brewery is nestled inside a business park just off a main drag in a northern park of SD. It was down pouring when we got there so there wasn't many folks around even for a Friday afternoon (close to happy hour), but there ere about a dozen or so 'business casual' gentleman and ladies unwinding after a hard day in the office.
The brewery was extremely clean, almost to the point that I was questioning if beer was actually brewed at this location, but alas. it was. I got a flight of very hoppy fresh beers (some one off's I've never seen before). PalateWrecker was the freshest I've ever had it and far better then the bottled version I'd had previously. The bar tender was gracious about answering a few questions on what was in the barrels on the wall (saisons mostly) and the other staff on hand where nice (even talked to a brewer at the door before running into the rain)
There was a food truck but skipped it in lou of our next stop. In all I'm glad we wen't, but can't say I'd ever make a return visit.

This is a fairly new brewery for Green Flash. It is fairly large, max capacity of 100,000 barrels. It is very clean and inviting. Doors are wide open with fans running, very nice temperature inside. You walk into the tasting room, with a gift shop off to the side. To the other side is a place to walk back outside into a walled off section with access to a food truck. The selection of food trucks rotates daily, and they seem to all be quality. Chop Soo-ey was there when I went, and it is very good. So, having food and beer goes well together, there were 11 different beers available, though it looked like they had room for one more draft, and one cask. They offer tours, which are $5 a pop, but include four tasters, and run for an hour or more. Very educational and extensive tour, and you get to sample four of their most common beers. Overall, a very enjoyable experience, and I will have to make it to the Virginia Beach location when that opens up.
