I stopped in while visiting Vancouver. The bartender was great. The beer was outstanding, and the beer on tap was top of the line. A great place to eat and drink.

Quite simply the best bar in Vancouver. Plenty available on draught and by the bottle, solid pub food, and fantastic bartending staff. There's sixteen things on tap at the Frog and you won't find any Granville Island to be any of them, which is a nice change.

I went there for dinner and some great beer on a recent family vacation. We were seated in the solarium with a great view of the steam clock. It makes for a funny picture watching all the tourist poised with their cmeras waiting for the clock to play its tune.
I had a Phillip's Hop Circle IPA which complemented the spicy chili nicely. I also enjoyed a Driftwood Crooked Coast Amber Ale. There was somethhing on the menu for everyone in the family to enjoy, both liquid and solid. The only issue we had was that a large group of guys who attended a White Caps game walked in just before us, this slowed things down in the kitchen. If you find yourself in the Gastown area besure to stop in. It will be worth the visit.

The Black Frog is located in the Gastown area of Vancouver off of Water Street on Cambie, just down from the iconic steam clock that tourists go nuts over.
It used to be a number of different things before it became The Black Frog, including a sushi restaurant. It is owned by Edmontonians, so there is a number of Edmonton Eskimo and Edmonton Oilers swag on the walls. Inside it is mostly brick and wood, but the real draw for me is how it is half a solarium, that looks out onto the Pan Pacific and the Vancouver Sun building. Best view in Vancouver for a craft beer establishment in my opinion.
Specials are always reasonable, service is attentive, and food is above average. The beer selection is primarily in bottles, and there is a decent range of local craft. While the selection isn't as good as The Alibi Room or St Augustines, this place definitely has its charms and is worth a visit as a laid back and cozy place with a great view.
