The Beer Garden just opened not to long ago and I was able to visit one night during Baltimore Beer Week.

It's located in a nice walking area. As you enter you have the choice to go to the outside garden area or the bar area. Both are outside, but the bar area has a "roof" over it. The garden area is equipped with fest tables, a pebble floor, and even a fire place.

Our waitress showed up to our table plenty of times. She was very nice and very helpful.

The beer menu was on a clipboard in the middle of the table. The draft list was composed mostly of Leinekugel beers (Big Eddy being one), Flying Dog, Heavy Seas. There were others including Oscar Blues, New Belgium, Yards, and Dogfish Head. There was also an extensive bottle list. Nothing that is going to blow you away, but it's a nice list to say the least.

They didn't have much of a food menu, but the nibbles they did have were pretty tasty. They serve their meat and cheese platter on a big cutting board. The fries were crispy, came in a large basket, and you could choose from three sauces. I'd like to see them up their menu from just brat bites, cheeses, and fries.

Overall, this was an enjoyable stop to end the night. A great outdoor atmosphere, friendly service, long beer list, and some good nibbles.

This is a beer destination in the same way that a Hard Rock Cafe is a concert venue.

It's in a very touristy area of town, and the prices reflect that. But I actually like Leine's beers more than most people do, so I figured it'd be worth a stop, maybe try some interesting varietals that you can't get in stores.

Nope. They had exactly 6 beers on tap, all of which were brewed by Miller or Pabst, the most flavorful of which Sunset Wheat. They didn't even have any of the (relatively) good Leinenkugels beers on tap!

And the vibe was *hella* touristy. The music was way too loud, the decor was way too gaudy, and there was just this weird, superfluous bustle in the air that made me feel rushed even though there was no good reason to feel rushed.

It was an ersatz experience to be sure. Nothing about it was particularly offensive, but nothing was even close to good. There are like 200 excellent places to go in Baltimore and this is certainly not one of them.

Located in the Power Plant, and I went here prior to the Alter Bridge concert at Rams Head on 4/21

Had close to 30 beers on tap including 5 to 8 rotating Leinenkugel beers. Not a huge fan of Leinenkugel Shandy, bu they did have a Kolch which was pretty tasty. Also had Brewer's Art, Flying Dog, and a bunch of New Belgium on tap (along with the typical macros). The beers were a little price as even the Leiny was $6 non-happy hour. ($5 during happy hour)

Our waitress was decent considering the place was starting to fill up from those who were there for the concert. Had a Flank steak taco which was average at best for $8. Not a bad place to grab a beer or two prior to a show, but the beer and food are a little expensive. Still would recommend if you are in the Power Plant, but a bunch of better places in the area for food.

Located in the Power Plant Live area of the Inner Harbor so it is easy to locate. The place is not too big as the bar seats about 20 and there are a bunch of high top tables, but most people were standing here as it was very crowded on a Friday evening. It does have a decent airy feeling as it is mostly a glass structure to give it an outdoor feel to it.

There were about 22 taps. 7 Leine's styles on draft, with 4 Flying Dog beers, and 3 New Belgium beers kind of dominated the list. In addition there was a Heavy Seas, DuClaw Exile, Evolution Lot #3, DFH 60 Minute, Yards Brawler, and the typical SNPA, Miller Lite, and Stella Artois available.

The bartender seemed pretty clueless when I asked a question about a beer style, and the response was "its a dark beer". Service was also slow as there was a large crowd. The crowd was very young as this is probably the first place to start the evening's lubrication before getting into the clubs in the area.

Overall I didn't really enjoy the place, but it does offer a slight improvement over the previous establishments in the PPL area. I'll try this again in the summer and see how it goes.
